Current Events > JRPG Bosses that you have a random chance of NO chance despite your strategy?

Anyone got any? Basically boss fights where no matter how you approach it, you have a random chance of being completely screwed over without any chance to win. I suppose it doesn't HAVE to be JRPG, but I thought that would be the most likely type of game with those types of boss fights.

No chance in the sense that the story makes the boss unbeatable and youre supposed to lose, or that you're unprepared and backed into a corner unintentionally and fucked?

basically the RNG causes the boss to execute moves in such a way that you cannot recover and you will lose no matter how you prepared, not a storyline boss fight you are forced to lose

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2, Grandmaster of everything bad.

If you don't immediately go for certain enemies the fight is almost certainly a loss if RNG doesn't kill you first.

I gave up on it after I couldn't beat MegaSeadramon with my choice of party. There was NO WAY to go back and choose a different party, except for restarting THE WHOLE GAME.

Seriously, I don't know what were they thinking.

that's so fucked I'll give that a pass even though I said "no matter how you prepare" because it's so awful. I suppose it works because you can't just do some sidequests to get more gear or level up and face the boss and win if you have the wrong team

Basically, he has a move (Beast Eye) that gives him more turns out of nothing. So there's a very small chance he could go on attacking indefinitely.

I beat him on my first try luckily.

There's a lot of bullshit in Nocturne.

Oddly Ozma is the only FF Superboss I ever beat.

After over an entire decade I finally beat Hein on DS.



His weakness can shift so depending on which spells you use, he can avoid having his weakness exploited. The game really screws you too by sealing you in a dungeon right before the fight. I had to kill myself and load my old game just to level up and buy items to take him on.
