Got him from a close friend three years ago and left him with a friend a year ago.

He was about five years old...his newest family liked him so much they were even in process of building him a pond.

Gold fish are the best. I especially like the Ranchu. I had one that looked like a white submarine. Cutest thing in the world.

But what are you doing with a mere Goldish, blu? I thought youd have these:

Oh man , losing pets is always hard . It's been couple of years since our beloved dog died, but it still feels like it happened recently :(

My current wealth is about 90th percentile for my age (plan is for it to raise to 99% and then drop down again to maybe 90%) and my annual income is between the 98th and 99th percentile for my age (it'll drop off in my 30's), but spending is around 25th percentile for my age and I spend in the bottom 1st percentile of people with my income level...so no Koi pond for me.

I do like koi though, in the downtown area of where I did grad school there is a giant pond full of koi surrounded by a garden, and I spent quite a bit of time exploring it.

What I'd really want in a fishtank is a bircher, but I don't think I can take anything in that lives decades. It's such a big committment. Even my cat was supposed to be a foster...but he was hard for me to part with since his personality is unique and lovable. Walks on a leash and everything.

My dog from high school through grad school passed away a few months ago. Still hurts thinking about him.

I had tons of betta growing up. They usually lived about 2 years, 4 years was the longest. That's a pretty good life for a beta. I kept mine in a 10 gallon tank...they'll dart around the entire thing if you give them space. I think it's awful how places advertise "betta houses" with such a small amount of space.

How big of a tank do you keep them in and what size filter? When I was little I had a a couple gallons and they never lasted long, but I had a 15 gallon tank and a 75 gallon filter for the last couple and they did really well.

Haha! You dont have to post a link to it, I know them very well.

My favorite being the armored bichir. It looks amazing when its swimming in the tank. Like a fucking real life Chinese/Japanese dragon.

Not expensive either... especially for you.

Bichir! The spelling was right in front of me...hard habit since I don't even know how to say the word.

Yeah, that it basically looks like a flying dragon is a big draw to me, especially the white ones. Is Delhezi the armored one? They look nice.

20 gallon tank, shared with 5 Zebra Danios. I believe the filter was designed for a 20-30 gallon tank, not sure how that equates to actual gallons.
