Haven't played it yet, but I probably would be harsher on the game. Yes, I'm one of those purists that misses turn based combat. Persona 5 is nice, but that's one game. We might see 3 or 4 a year if we are lucky, good ones that is. I feel that 7 Remake had a chance to add turn-based as well, and they just chose not to. Their version of turn-based isn't turn-based, its more Fallout. I don't like Fallout(yeah, I'm weird like that).

Dunkey is spot on. The gameplay is awesome, graphics, bosses. But the cutscenes and dialogue is so lame. Japanese stuff like this is so cringey

I agree with him, and can't wait to watch my cousin play through the beginning hours (buying it for him, I don't have a ps4).

I would never play the game, it's too anime for me. I loved the original too, heard they got away from it, but that's okay, can't wait to see the game in action.

Some of his criticisms are definitely kinda weird and/or bad but it honestly boggles the mind that people get so mad about him or indeed anybody not liking stuff they like.

These people are the exact same people who complain about media outlets giving games inflated scores too lol

I didnt mean that. He has valid complaints about games for sure, but people shouldn't be surprised nor should he be trending on twitter and getting a bunch of hate when this was so obviously going to happen lol

Also I would say that a lot of JRPGs consist of "lame dialogue between characters who talk like toddlers." Maybe you do need to get it to enjoy that shit if it's so prevalent in the genre.

His videos are almost always comedic in nature, but he does give honest opinions on video games - so yes and no. I don't agree with a lot of his critical opinions but his reviews are entertaining to watch even if I disagree with what he says.

He liked the combat in the remake though, his main complaint seemed to be that they stretched 5 hours of a game into 30 hours.

I never really cared for his "serious" style videos. Also, I feel like he just reviews JRPGs at this point just because he knows he'll get a lot of attention if he talks about them. He definitely does bring up some valid points with the game, though.

But the "so this is ____" videos, while comedy, are also more or less completely accurate in their criticisms.

Where did this idea come from that if someone levies real issues in a comedic fashion, those issues are meant to be ignored? Most actual stand-up comedy is about addressing real issues.

Like FF4 remake? Yea the best parts are the parts from the past. Not much else though.

I watched it yesterday. Nearly everything he said that annoyed him I either liked in the game or didn't have a problem with.

Also, Shinra does say "mako" in that scene. The music is loud on that part, but he does not say "mana".

Hes spot on about pretty much everything. FF7R is a bloated, boring game that bungles the storytelling of the portion its remaking. Way too much filler and the ending is absurd. Also Sephiroth is shoehorned in way too much.

Its in his video about video game reviewers. He says that its important for reviewers to be consistent and uses himself as an example saying some along the lines of; I hate rpgs, I hate turn based combat, and I hate anime, so if I give an anime, turn based, rpgs like Persona 5 a 4/5 you know that its a fantastic game.

Most videos are exaggerated, but ones that say "dunkview" are reviews with his actual opinions. There's a comedic tone in all of his videos, but these videos are when he's at his most honest.
