and I keep thinking about the Crackdown games how shitty they are compared to this game

like how is it that a game like Prototype came out like over a decade ago, and is essentially very similar to the crackdown games but with more fun gameplay/missions and an actual story, but MS released crackdown 3 like last year, after developing it for several years, yet it still had all the issues that kept the first two from being great titles

How do you pour that much money into something and try so little to make it good

and before Prototype even came out there was that Incredible Hulk game on ps2/xbox that essentially had the same gameplay. That game was also better than any of the crackdown games

Dont forget spiderman 2. One of the few superhero games that wasn't crap. Yeah I want to see a few more good prototype games heck I would take a movie at this point. Animated by the cg team blur.

i bought the first crackdown in 2007 just to play the halo 3 beta and I ended up loving it but it hasnt held up well and the two sequels were really shitty.

pretty sure the sequel was developed in like 6 months and 3 went through serious development hell.

Crackdown 3 would have been great if it was an 360 title but yeah its just a title floating on a sea of mediocre titles (since microsoft blew the entire budget for exclusive deals to purchase minecraft).

microsoft spent 2 billion to buy mojang

and then made that money back, on just sales from minecraft, in 11 months.

also microsoft said they didn't like exclusive deals anymore, so now they just buy the entire studio

I love Hulk Ultimate Destruction and Prototype.

Prototype is basically upgraded gameplay wise in every way over Hulk. I played both games to death when they came out.
Prototype 2 was a bit of a let down though. I think the ways the powers were handled is better but it chopped out almost all the RPG elements to bare bones and the over world was less enjoyable. Less freedom.

it was still fun but was like 1 step forward 2 steps back imo.

ive never played crackdown. I wish Rad didnt get shut down
