Go into work today and with the weather being terrible out I figure (Oh, it's gonna be a slow one) Nope. Packed all day (I assume another wave of the stimulus checks went out) cause people need to come out and get their 4th of July and summer decorations. I get when people come in for food and essentials, but god damn, at least half of everyone comes in for pointless shit.

So far in my area it seems like people have taken it seriously. There are a lot of cars on the road, but you drive by parking lot after parking lot and not many cars are in them. I even saw a redneck fishing by himself with gloves and a mask on.

Thankfully most people I deal with are pretty level headed (kinda surprised tbh) and even 95% of them are finally wearing masks (they are mandatory, but ya still got that select few), but it's that 5% that is annoying as hell and the pointless crap people don't need.

"Oh waaahhh I can't stay home, Internet and TV and video games are too boring! I need to go to Denny's and eat a grand slam!"

Meanwhile our ancestors rarely lived passed 35, we were constantly conscripted into war, our mothers were lucky to survive childbirth, we had multiple dead siblings due to diseases, and we had no concept of therapy or mental illness.

Excuse me, being asked to stay at home is the greatest tyranny Americans have faced in the American history of America.

I guess. I don't see many people fishing, but I saw this one guy. He was on a bridge in a rural area that no one really walks on, it's usually only cars and maybe only a handful every hour. It just shocked me, he was clearly a red neck and those tend to be Trump guys, but he was by himself and wearing protextion.

I really don't get it. Like, yeah I'm kinda bored not being able to do stuff by going out, but we have so many ways to entertain ourselves nowadays, there's really no excuse.

I get some people are legit out of jobs and can't even get unemployment yet, but that's even more of a reason to not come out ang buy pointless things!

So my wife comes from a long line of baptists, her dad, uncle, granddad, great granddad, dating back to the 1700s were all preachers. Her grandfather is 94 years old and still preaches, still gets in the car and drives 10 miles to his church every Sunday and hasn't missed but a handful of Sundays in the 60+ years he's been preaching.

Three weeks ago, he bought himself a laptop, set it up himself, and figured out how to live stream, share it on Facebook, and this Sunday will be his 3rd live stream service from the safety of his home.

I respect the hell out of that. 94 years old and he can figure it out, the other selfish assholes out there should take notes.

Roads were empty the first few weeks of March now you see traffic and people out like this thing has passed already.

I'm nervous for tomorrow, there is a protest scheduled in Albany, New York and I'm worried this will taint how I feel about how well upstate has handled this so far. There was a protest a week ago, but only 30 people showed up. What's the point in protesting as New York starts opening up? Some of the capitol region isn't opening on the 15th like other areas because of rising cases, but outside of that it's slowly opening. I can now go get a nose job if I wanted to.

It's only going to get worse unfortunately. My store is going back to their regular hours next week. Only a matter of time before they stop limiting people at the doors.

Word. I just was looking for insight. It was something I planned on getting into before all this went down.

No, I need to exercise my constitutional right to seize a government building with a gun in my hand! Anything that amounts to less than that is fascism, pure and simple! Take my rights from my cold dead hands!

That was my impression of an American. What did you think?
