Proto_Spark 05/01/20 5:05:49 PM #5:	ATM I think like a cheap iPod or old iPhone and iTunes are probably the best. the iPod touch is still for sale for like 200$ You can usually buy like 20-50 dollar MP3 players that don't have a lot of space on them which would probably work well, but they can be a pain to connect music too. I've had ones that were easy just move the files across, and ones that needed to be done through significantly worse iTunes knock-offs. This looks to be one of the better ones. Of course that was like... 11 years ago now jeez, so don't know if that's still an issue. Looks like in November 2019 there were only a few non-iPod MP3 players compatible with iTunes natively - Astell & Kern AK70 Onkyo DP-X1 Questyle QP1R DAP Astell & Kern AK Jr Pioneer XDP-300R Sony Walkman NW-ZX2 Flio X7PonoPlayer Sony Walkman NWZ-A15 (according to this website https://www.lifewire.com/mp3-players-you-can-use-with-itunes-2000486) Looks like there's a pretty easy to use program called "notpod" you can use to synch the stuff up, too. The Zune was a comparable dedicated high end music/video player that had its own software but as mentioned, it's no longer made. Definitely wouldn't recommend trying to go a retro route either, I don't think there's any point. The iPod Touch does have a small screen but at this point there's no real competition to compare it to. The Zune software is still available as a music/video player online though, even though it's really just used for nostalgic value at this point.
