Could be any type of work - novel, video game, movie, etc.
I'm mainly talking about the specific emotion of sadness but really it could pertain to a bigger umbrella of just "negative" emotions And not just negative like "Wow this character is so annoying I can't stand them" But negative like, for three straight days you just feel melancholy and struggle to take your mind out of that story/world etc. and get back to reality I love that fiction can do this to me but I'm ready to get my life back D: ... I think the "comfort food media" suggestion is a good one. Nothing like some Seinfeld or classic Simpsons to ground ya. Also helps to go out and be around people, even passively (I.E. Well, since they uploaded my favourite musical to Youtube at the start of the pandemic, my answer can now be "Watch Eugenius again".
