Totally depends on the fight. When in the spider dungeon having a few with strong AOE is necessary. Same with arena. But when facing the clan boss powerful single target abilities are the way to go.

Depends on the fight. For trash packs, spam your aoe rotation/skills

For a boss, do your single target rotation.

AoE is better most of the time, so AoE.

Depends on the content.
I prefer things to be fast/weightless over things that are weighted, or may have long cast & animation times.

Depends mostly on how much damage the individual enemies can do and how much health they have. If they're a serious threat, bursting one down can make incoming damage more manageable than trying to handle all of the damage for long enough to AoE the whole pack down at once, but that's only true if they have a small enough health pool that they can be burst down quickly enough. If individually killing them takes longer, then you need to handle their full damage long-term anyway, so it's better to AoE them for the greater damage output and just deal with the incoming damage until the pack's gone. Similarly, for really big packs, killing one enemy won't have a significant impact on their damage, so AoE's the way to go.

Of course, it's also going to depend on pack sizes and relative damage values for the attacks. If a single-target attack does 4x the damage of an AoE one, obviously you don't use AoE for anything less than 4 enemies (maybe 3, if AoE is lazier and it's not a serious enough fight to warrant min/maxing). I feel like that goes without saying, though.

Whatever does the highest total damage, unless there's a particular enemy that can and should be taken down quickly.

Yeah, thats why I voted the way I did. Even if AoE attacks do slightly less damage long term, they often stagger a lot, and thats way more valuable than havi NG a high DPS

Depends on everything for me. Like I have play a game where AoE is great for hitting everyone, but they attack slower. The single target ranged attacks much faster. The damage depends on the person. Sometimes, I need to use the single target units to kill the enemy before it reaches the base. But my AoE units do better when the enemy comes in groups and gets stopped someone altogether, like a a defending unit...

Also, it depends on the type of game. Something like an RPG or action game might benefit from AoE attacks by being able to attack everything. Like attack the boss and their minions. Though, if only the boss is left, why use weaker AoE attacks when you single attacks would work better...

So, in the end, it depends...

Yeah Rita's simply busted. It's so satisfying when Spell End triggers multiple times in a row and there's so many spells on the screen at once that the game slows down

Each has its uses, but I've had more trouble against mobs than single bosses. I would rather sacrifice single-target damage for AoE than the reverse.

If there's only one or two adds, do your single target on the adds.if there's a whole bunch of adds, do your aoe.

You need a mix of single target and area of effect damage.
