Look, I have always had a simple method of changing my sheets. I use a fitted sheet, and then 2 non-fitted sheets on top. I then just change the top sheets every time I do a laundry, and it works great.

But today I realized I had not done a laundry in awhile (like 3 weeks) because.....I have not been going out. I had not changed the top sheets in all that time.

So I am washing all of em right now (I put a new fitted sheet on until the top sheets are ready.

That would be the longest I have ever gone, and honestly I didn't even need to do a laundry yet, but I moved a mini fridge and it spilled water, so I used a towel to dry it up and decided to wash/dry it, and threw sweat pants/tshirts I wore the few times I did go out, and of course my sheets.

Gonna wash my comforter/blanket next (it's heavy so I wash it by itself. I threw in my pillow cases already as well.

Anyway just curious if anyone else has kinda let things like that go during the SaH stuff, or if anyone has ever not washed sheets for more than a week before.

Lol, that would be one way to make yourself look forward to xmas, and REALLY appreciate new sheets.

Your body gets used to the sheets as days go on, but the new sheet feel, when you put new sheets on a bad, it lasts for a day or two.

A few days. Well... actually I strip my bed, clean the sheets, and put em back on once dry. I double-wash them, once with detergent and then with white vinegar, when it's time for a cleaning, which is about once a week. I don't have a second set of sheets to swap in or out with, so I wouldn't really call it changing my sheets. *shrugs*

I shower both before bed, and when I wake up (not always right when I wake up now since not working though).

A hot shower helps me relax so I can fall asleep AND it helps my body feel cooler (especialy useful in the summer if you don't have good air conditioning). I can't fall asleep if I feel hot.

It also helps me wake up in the morning. My eyes feel crusty/tired and my brain foggy until I take a shower (Even tea dosn't cure that).

As I just proved you can certainly go longer than 1 week, but sheets are light and don't take up much room in a wash, so if you wash your clothes once a week (which I normally do if I am going out often), might as well wash the sheets, and by using top sheets, it's fast and easy.

And yeah, seriously, sheets feel better for the first few days after you wash them (I still have high quality/expensive thread count sheets from when I was married. I probably wouldn't spend that much anymore on new ones though).

Jeez, I just use detergent (arm and hammer or tide, I forget which...maybe it's both?), and it works fine.

I would as well, but detergent doesn't disinfect. Considering I need all the restful sleep I can get before going to work, especially on days with morning shifts demanding me to wake up at 4:30 am, well... I think you can get the picture here. =p

Ugh, that's SO the same for me. I kinda dislike waiting to shower after work in the summer but the longer I wait (within reason) the cooler I'll be later. I don't have the right kind of window for AC.

A good glass of OJ is all I need in the morning, breakfast too of course.

We don't even use sheets.
I'm not physically capable of wrangling a fitted sheet on a queen sized bed, and apparently no one else finds it worth it. Tbh I toss and turn so much when it was tried before the sheet never stayed on.

I don't wash them very often, once a month or so, but I usually take a bath just before going to bed so I'm clean and the sheets stay clean.

I have several sets of sheets so when I change them, I pull off the old set, throw it in the wash, then put on a clean set out of the drawer. When the old sheets are dry, I fold them up and put them in the drawer.

Lol @ some of the responses.

I don't wear clothes while in bed, but no, I don't sweat at all either (hence not being able to sleep when it's hot).

I actually have a hard time sleeping while anything abrasive is touching me, I can't even sleep at most hotels unless I bring my sheets with me.

I'm like a Really big and bearlike princess and the pea kinda guy.

If you really want a good laugh my scrawny, weak ass somehow tosses and turns so much in my sleep sometimes the bed ends up like a couple-few inches away from the wall.
