A supermajority of businesses are still going to fail even if the economy opens up right now. Like most businesses are going to lose like 85-90% of their costumers since most people are still scared of the virus. The remaining 10-15% aren't going to be enough for these businesses to live. And those 10-15% of codtumers can actually cause further prolonging of this quarantine which will cause more economic damage.

I just don't understand lol

A misguided sense of economic preservation. The most successful outcomes will be in countries that went early enough to aim for an elimination strategy (Vietnam, Taiwan, HK, Korea, Singapore, Australia, NZ, Iceland) because it enables the measures to be in place for a shorter period of time, and hopefully avoid repeated lockdowns.
It does depend on good border control over many months, but most international travel is off-limits right now regardless, so I don't think there's a lot of downside there.
