We actually don't know if it worked yet because it doesn't happen in just a month. It could very well be we will still be seeing cases next year spike in the United States but by then Sweden could be completely over the hump. It's not some crazy choice, it was good that one stable country tried this---so we know.

I mean, immunity IS whats going to happen everywhere, eventually.

Problem 1-- The US population is higher, more varied than most in the world

Problem 2 - Our central bank would have to tell the treasury to print the money, loan it to to the government at interest, inflating the money supply, meaning homes will be worth less, peoples investments will be crushed and generations later will pay off the debt. Only the biggest corporations would survive. This is because the United States already carries the highest deficit in the history of the world.

Some people seem to think money is created out of nothing, but it is NOT.

it's about being able to establish targeted quarantines and trace contacts in areas with few cases

when there's no ability to do that the only thing you can do is tell everyone to stay home. and then when they're staying home you are supposed to get the testing working, so they can stop staying at home.

Then more time was added because "We don't want the hospitals getting overwhelmed." Then it's because we need a severe reduction in cases or to the point where there are no new cases (is that even possible?)

They should just tell it like it is, where it's "Stay home and rot until we have the vaccine necessary for you to return to some semblance of a life."

If you look at populations affected per State this isn't really the case though, our worst is worse and our best counties have 0 - 10 cases.

Also Sweden is like 12th in the world in elderly population.

And why look at it that way as opposed to the country as a whole? Places like New York City far exceed the population density anywhere in Sweden, which will drive up numbers.
