I disagree, specific media shouldnt be not made just because its sounds appalling to us as individuals.
I mean theres plenty of abhorrent things down in fictional shows/movies that have no moral base in reality.
We consume media not because we not to take part in these acts but because it is entertaining or sickening, etc.

Sure there is the downside that if you make a really weird movie it wont be successful and that seems like a big enough downside on its own, I mean, most people here hadnt even ever heard of this movie until the name was posted.

Modern audiences would not allow that at all, it would create a huge issue if a movie today tried to do that. Spike Lee did recently have a movie about black face, but it seeks to create an issue about it not do it for entertainment.

In some ways, the plot was brilliant (great social commentary for how far we've devolved socially). But, geez..., it was heavy-handed.
