There's been quite a bit of speculation that covid severity is linked to blood type. It's plausible that recessive sickle-cell genes could also be a factor.

Colloquially speaking, I know minority neighborhoods/towns around here in NY have ludicrously high infection rates, so I feel like in general a greater percentage of minorities are contracting covid. In my professional experiences, seems like lower class groups aren't really taking it seriously, which would explain why do many are getting it.
