According to NewsOne, Indianapolis police officers shot and killed what appears to be an unarmed black man last night and the victim was streaming the incident on Facebook Live.

The victim, Sean Reed, was live-streaming himself on Facebook when he was shot. Unknown to the police, Reed was recording as he was gunned down and the officers had no clue that after shooting him, they could be heard sharing a laugh over his dead body.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department released a statement (in full below) stating that gunfire was exchanged between the officers and the victim. There was an exchange of gunfire between the driver and the officer. The driver was struck by the gunfire.

Yet, in video clips that went viral, there was no evidence that Reed had or fired a gun.

The following clips suggest that the circumstances are substantially different from the statement written by the Indianapolis Police Department.

They're basically immune to consequences. Add in that the bar for entry is incredibly low so you get scumbags like this who pretty much have absolute power to be judge, juror, and executioner to whoever they want and most of the time get paid while they sit at home for a couple of months until the public outcry heat dies down.

1. This incident
2. Someone who may have been trying to ambush police, it's still pretty fresh
3. A pregnant woman hit by a police car

So it's been a shit show in Indy apparently.

pretty fucked up, like he thought he was some movie cop and needed to get in a one-liner. if cops weren't untouchable by the law they uphold, they wouldn't get these weird ego and power issues. someone has to police the police

also pretty disgusted in the viewers and their "reacts" as it was happening. not that there's anything they can do about it, it's just sad to know this was just entertainment for them. something to wow react over

it's called racism. that's what has been a thing since...forever, for people of all colors everywhere in the world. He live-streamed a high speed pursuit while laughing and joking, endangering lives and saying, I aint goin to jail today.

He then fled on foot, armed with a handgun, was unaffected by a taser deployment, and apparently fired at police.

But yeah, be mad because one officer made a cold-blooded comment in the high stress aftermath of a shooting.

Being outraged over this incident lessens the impact of legitimate outrage over legitimate bad shootings.
