This is non-employees at the stores I am going to mind you.

It's only about 10%. Social distancing is being considered by maybe 25%. I was in line at Walmart (I have been wearing a mask) and they have the squares to "Stand here" and this fat fuck behind me is so close that he brushes my arm grabbing a belt divider and starts stacking his shit on there, no mask on, no gloves, and about two feet behind me.

A lot of people are just walking directly by you in aisles, again, no masks, giving zero consideration to anyone. I was probably about one of 20 people I saw wearing a mask today, and closer to an estimated 250 people in the store, and the rest weren't.

Today I went to Walmart, Kroger, and Tractor Supply and it was about the same everywhere.

What are your experiences, and how seriously or non-serious is the public treating this where you live?

the people in tennessee need to start taking this seriously (we thank you if anyone is following at least the mask and social distancing rule).

yesterday i saw someone get scolded for not wearing a mask at costco but everyone is respecting distance and doing the right thing when lining up etc.

waiting on a permanent cloth mask to arrive sometime soon (they're taking sweet time getting here) one of those balaclava's which can be fashioned into a cloth mask.

I've seen more people wearing masks in Knoxville. Every time I go to Walmart or Kroger, it looks like way more than 10%. Closer to half. And it's mostly elderly people doing it.

The sad reality is that if people had actually followed any sort of real plan to stymie the Coronavirus, this shit would be over by now. But America is just stuffed overflowing with short-sighted, stupid assholes so the deaths, the disruptions to society, and all negative aspects of this thing will continue for a long time.

I'm in the mountains closer to Chattanooga, i'm sure it varies depending on the area and the restrictions in that particular county.

I hear that people just don't give a fuck in TN. Stores aren't even bothering to limit people apparently. One of my relatives was complaining that people are just throwing parties and shit outside with crowds

I only see people in my city wearing a mask at Kroger. I haven't been to Walmart so maybe it's different, but at the grocery store, I'd say about 40% of customers are wearing one. Nobody follows the social distancing rule though. Granted, it's tough to do so when the aisles aren't big and you just have to stand and wait at the end for someone to slowly browse through the entire aisle, but there are also people just huddled together talking.

Everywhere else I've been or driven past, I rarely see a mask. A local restaurant opened back up this week. No limit to the dining area. People were lined up outside to the point the entire parking lot was totally filled with folks. Not one mask or glove or any protective gear. They don't care because the numbers are still less than 200 (last I checked). Of course, who knows if anyone is even getting tested.

My job just re-opened this week with a major limit on how many people can come inside and where they can go. Basically, they have to wait in a line and the staff will grab their stuff. Before the end of work week, management sent out an email saying they were going to start the next phase and bring in more people the next week. The original plan wasn't to even think about that until the start of June. >_<

Numbers in TN have been going up, but slowly unless you're in Nashville, Memphis or Knoxville (maybe Chattanooga) so if you don't live there, people don't take care. It'll be interesting to see if things take a turn for the worse by the start of June.

In defense of people not wearing masks, there were a lot of mixed messages about how necessary/effective they were early on. Government shit the bed on getting info out.
