I recently got one and I've been sleeping better with it. Recently I had been having a lot of trouble with waking up in middle of the night. Since I got this blanket, I'm finding it much easier to go right back to sleep if that happens instead of tossing and turning.

Yeah I have a 15lb and a 21lb, the latter is great for awake chilling, but I like the lighter one for sleeping. I also can't recommend a Purple pillow enough for sleep quality, since I made the switch I fall asleep faster and generally sleep the entire night.

Is it a lot hotter than a typical cover/blanket? I usually use a thinner cover on my bed because I sleep hot. I never considered a weighted blanket because I felt like it would be an oven.

It can be significantly warmer, but something like 4 to 6lbs isn't going to make a huge difference if you're already using a comforter. If your covering is closer to a sheet, then you'll probably get too hot even under a lighter blanket.

It's a pillow made of a modern type of urethane that is vented for constant coolness and never loses density from the weight of your head. They're $100 but it's the best pillow I've ever used and it's warrantied for 10 years. I switched from a setup using two traditional pillows and one down pillow to just the one Purple pillow and haven't had any type of sleeping related body strain since.

Got one of those too. It's held up pretty well over the past few years.

If I recall, it was originally designed to aid autistic people.

Which is fine by me, because more than likely I'm autistic people.
