But whether or not this matters is yet to be decided. At the least, its been a net good for the poor of Cuba, for the nation of Kerala, and for almost every country with a labor movement, such as the USA, even if only in the short term (since capitalists inevitably crack down on labor movements and the communists and socialists who drive them). I don't think its done a whole lot of net good for the people of Russia or China, but it did make those countries superpowers, which is the real reason - not the millions of deaths, which they are largely indifferent to - that capitalists, conservatives, fascists, and right leaning liberals are so rankled by them.
