Summary:

  1. Police obtained a no-knock drug warrant.
  2. They walk in at 1:00 am. They say they identified themselves. The victim's boyfriend said they did not.

  4. Police fire back, hitting him and killing her while she is in bed sleeping
  5. Boyfriend is charged with assault and attempted murder. Police officers have been re-assigned.

From what i've read they had him in custody for hours too.

Also they were plain clothes officers and in an unmarked car. So literally this dude just saw 3 normal ass dudes walk into his house

So even if they did identify themselves there was no proof they were cops? Pigs gonna be pigs.

I didn't see any of that yet. I know in the link he was released on self-house arrest or whatever and the police are pissed at that. So if that other stuff is true, Jesus Christ they are really are showing their corruption on their sleeves.

the concept of a no knock warrant is crazy to me. I'm very pro police, but this should be something only used in extreme cases (like they tracked a serial killer). Theres too much risk in a no knock especially for non violent crimes. This guy should bleed the department dry in court, but I know the courts are likely to side with the police.

This sucks.

No knock raids are asking for disaster. If my door comes crashing down and one of my guns is nearby of course I'm going to shoot at what I think are intruders.

Imagine what he's going through. The police are 1000000% to blame, but you know he's gotta feel a little bit responsible for the sequence of of events that resulted in the woman he loved dying.

Having said that, this isn't a tragedy, ITS AN UNFORGIVEABLE INJUSTICE.

If they don't knock and don't identify themselves as police how are you supposed to be able to tell they are cops?

This. If he had killed any of them it would've been justified, assuming they really didn't announce who they were

This is what I don't understand. They said they announced who they were but they had a no-knock warrant.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say a no-knock warrant is much harder to get due to the uniqueness of it. So.....why would you defeat it's intended purpose by announcing who you are?

I think you can be pro police and anti practice. Ive met a number of awesome cops. Its difficult to argue in good faith when you have blue line thumpers and all police are evil in every discussion, but its easy for me to be an outside observer since Im not a race thats been historically persecuted by that institution.

There's no evidence that they didn't announce themselves. There is evidence of the perpetrator firing at them.

The other thing I find interesting is that the police nor anyone else has linked the victims to the person previously arrested. Like at all.

Usually there would be some PR move trying to show how these people are connected to some crime, especially when a fellow officer was shot.

Police that think no knock warranties are smart. Deserve what suffering comes there way for using it. The people that think there is intruders coming in there house don't though.
