Bought my first one when rdr2 came out. Sent it in to Sony, and they replaced/repaired it. (Never specified)

Got it back to 10/2019, and the exact same problems are starting back up.

Why cant they give me a console that lasts a full year?

After SIE services the Product and returns it to you or returns a factory-recertified product to you under this warranty, this warranty applies to the returned product for the longer of (i) 90 days from the date that SIE ships the Product or the factory-recertified product or (ii) the original Warranty Period. sounds like Im boned

I think the problem is the hard drive, so I may try replacing it myself.

in hindsight, I have bad luck with consoles.

2 or 3 360s got RROD. Had a Dreamcast get fried in a thunderstorm, on my first night playing it.

Cheaper to buy a used PS4 from like Kijiji or FB.

Did you clean out the dust? Maybe we have different issues but I was having huge slowdowns on my PlayStation 4 to the point where it would almost shut down, but I cleaned out the dust and now it runs like it did right out of the box

Ill try that. Did you have to unscrew it? Its not overheating or anything like the first time this happened.

but basically textures arent loading if Im traveling in a game. Like buildings wont appear until Im smacking into them.

takes 5 mins to launch a game, etc

Yes there are about 10 screws, I believe a Phillips is okay for most of them but there are two or three screws or you need a special kind of tiny screwdriver with a specific head that I'm forgetting the name of. I had to go down to the local hardware store to pick it up for a couple dollars along with a can of air to spray the insides and I was good!

Just search how to clean out your PS4 on YouTube, it was the first time I'd ever taken apart a console despite owning many so I was nervous but it was actually a fairly simple process.

alright Ill try this. Thinking about ordering a replacement that would be here Saturday, since thats when Ill probably try cleaning it.
