Starting to have some problems with my PS4.

While playing GTA, textures wont load. Ill be driving down the street, and the ground just disappears. Everything turns grey. Or a building wont appear until Im already smacking into it. Or freezing 5-10 seconds at a time

When trying to launch the game from the home screen, it takes a few minutes before anything happens.

Hell, sometimes the games wont even show up, as shown in the link.

I tried to reinitialize, didnt really seem to help

It doesnt seem to be overheating, because I havent heard any jet noises.

it seems like you need to have it rebuild its database and this video will show you how to do that.

is that the only error code you get?

it kinda sounds like you start questioning the hardware at this point.

Yeah. Ive had this happen before on a different Ps4.

i have two theories. I pretty much never turn the console fully off. If Im not playing, its in rest mode to charge controllers.

that, or dust getting inside. We have 5 pets

this is the second console Ive had this issue with. So no longer under warranty unfortunately. The console I have now is already a replacement through Sony.

what does thermal paste do

i dont think overheating (ie the fans being full of dust that they can't cool the ps4) would cause it to corrupt system files... it would just turn off.

i think if you're always getting corrupt files, its the hard drive.
