What is going to happen to all the people who can't pay their rent once the moratoriums are lifted? Are we going to have huge homeless shelters or outdoor homeless camps?

Republicans will tell those people to blame democrats for demanding things stay shut until they lost their homes. Democrats will tell those people to vote for them because Republicans don't care about them. In reality, nobody will do anything and those peoples' lives will be ruined and the rest of us will sit back in our personal comfort confident that whatever our existing opinion is remains the right one.

What if those desperate people show up to rob our comfy homes?

Aside from the Democrats currently trying to provide more stimulus money and ensure that it goes through the end of the pandemic?

I don't think my answer is an unreasonable prediction of what is actually going to happen based on the question that was asked. You can talk about things being proposed all day, but that isn't going change reality.

Thats it?

A lot of people got free money with the stimulus which probably made the spending drop a lot lower than it could have been.

This is a bad cop out. You cant use the Republicans refusal to do anything as a way of saying the Democrats did nothing.

I mean you can (and you did) but its obviously a stupid fucking take.

I could point to examples like when Republicans wanted to expand the amount of money set aside for small businesses and Democrats blocked it because they wanted conditions of their own added.

https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/04/09/830733212/senate-democrats-block-gop-effort-to-boost-small-business-aid

Don't sit here and pretend to like Democrats aren't doing their best to take advantage of this to push their own policies, even at the expense of actually helping people who need immediate support.

But what's the point of arguing. You'll just sit here and act like every Republican in Congress is some living monster that has no desire to help people who aren't billionaires. It's not like I'm going to change your mind, and at the end of the day you're going to do exactly what I said and sit back in the comfort of your home with absolute confidence that your take is objectively correct.

Ah yes, an article thats over a month old about Democrats wanting more financial help for people and businesses

Fuck youre bad at this

Republicans proposed a straight plus-up to the small business support. Dems blocked it because they wanted special conditions. Those are both facts. You can try to twist that as "well actually democrats were trying to help EVEN MORE when they blocked the amendment" but you'd be so full of shit you'd be qualified to be a Trump press secretary.

Read the quote:
One of the concerns that we have about the original $350 (billion) is a lot of money [is] first come, first serve, and many unbanked people who are underbanked or unserved on that basis ... don't have banking relationships ... in a way that others do

That's exactly what happened. I don't know that the new conditions would have been effective, but it's clear a blanket check was ultimately just a payout to the richest Americans again.
