Ate the people at the beach social distancing properly? If they are, I have no issue with not wearing a mask.

I am for smart opening up and not opening up too soon, and I am for social distancing and masks. That being said, some people need to calm their tits. Some states have this under control and it was always said that we were alright being out in nature. From the start of the shutdown it was recommended that you can go outside, sit in the sun, hike a trail, for for a bike ride. If they are giving other people their personal space, then let them relax on a nice day.

It isn't comfortable to wear a face mask on a blazing hot day.

Back when I was a painter I didn't want my respirator on within a few minutes after I was out of the booth.

Being outside in general isn't bad, and hopefully they aren't all packed together and they act in a safe manner while commuting between the outdoor spaces and home.

But like, outdoor seems like where people should be

Are a lot of people forgetting if someone coughs it goes farther than 6 feet as well as stays in the air for a bit. Or just ignorant? This is really scary if stuff like that is the common belief. And that isn't even getting into the fact it is kinda known it spreads through talking.

I posted something the other day that said heat and humidtation won't do anything, though I'm not sure if heat and UV rays are considered the same thing. It seems like they are two different things, so I assume that's still possible that UV rays will do something to help out.

You're safer in well ventilated areas, and nothing is more well ventilated than outside. Still people should stay a part and not be stupid about it, especially with this new shit with kids.

Most people don't even wear the masks properly so it's not like they're doing much. Imo, the mask thing is more or less an experiment in social conditioning.

It spreads through talking in unventilated areas because stagnant air with no flow allows micro droplets to remain airborne indefinitely. Any wind current is enough to evaporate or at very least sweep away said droplets, which eliminates COVIDs ability to travel in the air.
Sneezing and coughing in particular deposit droplets stand 3-6 feet before they hit the ground.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/15/us/coronavirus-what-to-do-outside.html

The odds that someone talks out enough infectious particles to actually get someone else sick, those particles then travel downwind without being evaporated or destroyed, and then enough of them travel into your away instead of just being swept away past you, are borderline zero.

I get that it's frustrating seeing people not follow the rules. But there's no need to be condescending about it.

I'm going to guess a good percent of people at beaches think the virus can't be spread outside... or they just don't care, until it affects someone they know, or themselves.

This is a well informed post, that's pretty rare around here.

People can't live in fear. I'm for shut downs, masks and social distancing, but not because of unfounded fear. From the start experts expected cases to go down in the spring and summer, and not because of the heat but because people will be outside more often. Closed areas with poor ventilation are where you need to be the most concerned. You should still social distance outside, but you have less to worry about. Stay sane and informed, you can go outside and be safe.

There isn't much advantage to wearing masks outside as long as you are social distancing. Also it's not a great idea to wear one in hot weather. People in Asia have been dropping dead from doing that.

Good to see some sanity left on gamefaqs with all these "safety" freaks you see on here....

What's really funny about the mask thing is that these so called "experts" tell you to wear one yet I've never heard them mention much about air-tight protection for your eyes. If you catch a virus or cold from someone I'd make an educated guess that over 90% of the time you caught it from the pathogen entering your eyes rather than nose/mouth. The back of your mouth has the tonsils which play a significant role in immune function; and from there you have even more defenses in your nose. The eyes on the other hand are the weak link. It's a straight shot to the blood stream for an antigen.

Its the same dumbass shit people are saying where they acknowledge that it stops an infected person from spreading it if they accidentally cough or sneeze or contains spittle when they speak. But then they say you shouldnt bother wearing one because it doesnt protect you anyways. This is even though the fact it stops it spraying out is a good enough reason more people should be wearing masks because they could be infected without even knowing
