One reason I don't like drinking water is because it changes taste for me, after sitting in the glass for, like, 10 minutes.

I live in a place with really, really good tap water. But it has to be fresh. Right out of the sink.

If I come back to a cup of water, and drink more, it gets this weird, sharp after-taste. Like chlorine, or something. I don't know.

My glass cups are clean. They don't have soap in them. Does water always do this? Or is it just me?

Water's flavor is its temperature.

this is kinda true. Really cold water pretty much tastes the same regardless of source

Not in my experience at least, sharp for cold and round for warm checks out. In general actually.

But different people are going to experience some things differently too.

Different mineral compositions, different temperatures, boiled or raw, extra lead if you live in Flint, etc.

Actually it's C02 you're tasting

I also leave a glass of water sitting on my desk for days so I often think about this.

That's what happens. Either I drink the whole cup quickly, or I suffer the terrible after-taste.
