I didnt have my first black teacher until 8th grade. Didnt have another one until college. That second guy pissed me off

When it came to the students, in a secondary school of 200, there were maybe 3 non-white students.

I had one in 6th grade and one in 9th grade. Oh, and my gym teacher in home economics teacher in elementary school was black...

I had some black football coaches who were also gym teachers.

One in 4th grade, one in community college. Not many of them where I used to live, not sure about Toronto proper but it's probably the same

Grew up in Southern Oregon, pretty sure I only had one black teacher in elementary school, he was the music teacher.

I don't remember even seeing any other black teacher in middle school or high school

a bunch. think my first grade teacher was black. had several in elementry/middle/highschool, maybe a 50/50 split.

conversely, without counting the PE teacher i didn't have a male teacher until 8th grade.

Primary through college Id say around 10. Ive had more black professors than Asian and I havent had any Hispanic teachers

Umm, 1, I think. But he wasn't really a teacher, just a babysitter that sat in a class and made us do homework from other classes.

Zero. The black staff that I did have in school were principals, vice principals, guidance counselors, social workers, etc.

Odd how I've never noticed this until now.

My 10th grade Lit teacher was a black lady and that was it until junior year of college, where my robotics professor was also a black lady. That professor was actually the one that made me want to get a PhD in a robotics related field and 7 years after that I got it.

None. There was one black student in my entire school.

Don't think there were any. Though the demographics of the state in 2010 census was like 98% white, so doubt it was any different when I was in school.

1 communications teacher in college
1 upper level finance teacher in college

I'm honestly not sure I had a single one. I can remember one Hispanic English teacher in high school who was 100% the coolest teacher I ever had, a couple Asians in various subjects in college, and I think everyone else has been white.

9th grade band
12th grade math

I really can't remember. Had a black English teacher in 7th grade and a black history teacher in 10th who was also a coach. That might be it

One in high school and one in college. The one in HS was kind of crazy and they got rid of her after a year. The one in college was brilliant and I am happy to have had her.

There were only a handful of non white teachers in my school system, but it was a semi rural predominantly white area so its kinda not surprising

Actually, I don't think I ever had any. I briefly had a black lady as a college professor, but I dropped that class since I didn't think I would enjoy all the group work.

I grew up on and still live in a predominantly black community so it'd be easier for me to list out how many of my teachers weren't black. But in my College career, I had probably one black professor that was STEM, my math professor that taught me Ordinary Differential Equations.

I was going to say zero, but then I remembered that I did have one. My school offered a distance learning course with one of the local community colleges. The professor for that class was a black man. He was a really good teacher.

I think I may have only had one black professor in college. It's kind of weird to think how overwhelmingly white the staff was in hindsight.

In California, only 1, my middle school choir teacher

In Arkansas, 3, algebra, world history, and communications

In college (also Arkansas), 1 religious studies professor

Many. Cant think of an actual number. I liked all of them. One of my coaches too. He helped me register for a season when my family had fallen in some hard times and waived the fee for that season.

None in K-5, several in 6-8, a couple in 9-12, and five black professors throughout university.

i had 2 black teachers in college. One for sociology and another for web programming.

Zero. The only black adults in the school system that I remember were bus drivers and janitors.
