I do a lot of kayaking and paddle boarding

Plotting out a route on a river is so much better than going on a lake. Ocean is a lot of fun too

no oceans near me, but lots of good river trails and some lakes.

how do you get your kayak back to the car on those river trails?

youve got to have a group (which sounds like you do). Just have some of you take your vehicles to the endpoint to load up when youre done and drive everyone back up to the starting point

It can be a hassle but its worth it

MY dad bought his old lady a kayak like ten years ago and she used it exactly once.

Ten years later im still trying to buy it or get it free and its still sitting in their garage unused.

How near?

you can get a little kayak dolly type deal and transport it that way but if its more than a few blocks itd be a giant pain in the ass.

It would work for me since im riggt by a river and lake though.

Fuck i want a kayak.

itll be a little tricky, but Im sure theres a way.

it should be a max of 4 couples, with us all carrying 2 per vehicle.

we live right outside a nice metro park system. Theres quite a few places there, with plenty more within an hour drive

Nice. Im right by a big lake and a decent river leading into a smaller lake but id definitely need to take my car beyond those. Also the river has drop structures id have to portage by.

My dad kayaks all the time generally alone. Why he cant let go of the totally unused one is beyond me.
