I felt the same way in the past Patty, but then I quickly realized people would find any other difference that they don't like about others to hate on them about. This hatred and discrimination isn't going to ever go away, at least not until every living thing is dead.

that was partly inspired by a generations long resentment perpetuated by the Germans and Belgians, where they pushed the belief that the Tutsi were outsiders, and somehow superior to the Hutu, and as a result, gave the Tutsi preferential treatment...but then gave the Hutu majority control after Rwanda had its independence.

and as a Tutsi, don't think that I'm making excuses for the killers, but even though people might be a similar color, when you push your own concepts of race on others, and assign positive/negative values to them, don't be surprised if there are negative consequences.
