So apparently if you start the album on repeat right at the third MGM lion roar the movie will synch up perfectly with the film.

I tried it and it's honestly kinda spooky how well they synch up. Even some of the lyrics match whats happening on-screen.

Is this like some weird easter egg in the universe? No way could they plan an entire album around the film like that. Especially since the album plays exactly 2 and a half times for the length of the film. It's impossible to plan something like that

A lot of albums sync up to movies.

There's no way Pink Floyd could have done it on purpose unless they had a projector playing the movie on a loop in the years and a half they spent making Dark Side of the Moon. This was before you could go out and buy The Wizard of Oz on DVD.

It's a theme album about mental illness anyway.

It was an American radio guy who pointed it out to me. It's such a non-starter, a complete load of eyewash. I tried it for the first time about two years ago. One of my fiance's kids had a copy of the video, and I thought I had to see what it was all about. I was very disappointed. The only thing I noticed was that the line "balanced on the biggest wave" came up when Dorothy was kind of tightrope walking along a fence. One of the things any audio professional will tell you is that the scope for the drift between the video and the record is enormous; it could be anything up to twenty seconds by the time the record's finished. And anyway, if you play any record with the sound turned down on the TV, you will find things that work

Roger Waters is also very open about his writing and what everything means. I'm sure he would have said "yes I did that on purpose" by now.

He doesn't exactly hide his intentions when he writes songs.

He probably didn't start it at the third lions roar. If you look up "dark side of oz" on youtube there is a video that does it perfectly and it 100% synchs up

Considering Parsons was in the engineering booth while they were recording the album I'm pretty sure I trust his thoughts on the subject.

Did you not read my other posts? I'm NOT saying they did it on purpose. I'm saying that they didn't and that's what makes it so cool when you watch them together. Your mind can't wrap itself around why they would go together so perfect.

Also it's just an amazing, timeless film and album
