I'm sitting on 5000 gold right now because I thought this solo adventure was another one where you have to pay 700 a wing.

And I don't need packs because I only play my thief priest deck that I really enjoy.

And I refuse to spend 2500 gold on the battleground pass.

And lol arena.

So I guess I'm ahead of the curve for next expansion packs?

I think I've got 16k gold right now. It started as saving gold each expansion to make sure I could buy my ~50 packs to just being stingy for whatever reason. Same with dust, sitting on 30k.

I only lost once, to Gokamok, who is definitely highrolly. Otherwise seemed pretty tame overall.

Your mistake is in thinking we want to hear you complain about this constantly. I can promise you I disbelieve your claims.

Your successes and failures are not ubiquitously connected with bad RNG. If I actually believed that the game was nothing but a luckfest RNG fiesta, as you assert, I would have dropped the game long ago. Instead, last night, I had one of the best pair of battlegrounds games in a long time.

I started off with the new Maiev. I figured I'd give her a try, and I had a great round 1 to build on -- two tidehunters and a Rockpool Hunter. So I took a tidehunter, sold the token, claimed the 2/3, and froze. I went on to build a pretty solid early game that let me push ahead of the other players, and I thought I was going to transition into dragons at first based on tripling into a razorgore, but as soon as I went to 5 (the same turn everyone else went to 4) I was offered a Goldrinn. So I locked it down with my last gold and spent the next two turns building a deathrattle comp. It came together by the time I got the Goldrinn, and I cleaned house until my last opponent had murlocs and I couldn't quite beat them. But I had a blast. I made some informed decisions, I took advantage of the opportunities I had, and I played well. Whereas a more negative mindset would view it as "pff, well, you got offered two Goldrinn and two Macaws, so of course you're gonna win," ignoring the fact that I had to pivot twice and I had to maneuver myself into a position to get to 5 ahead of everyone else.

Then I simply played murlocs myself, as Elise. No Brann, one Megasaur. Other than getting two Bagurgles early, I wouldn't say I was especially lucky. But the comp came together. Elise's maps hit on 2 and 5; whiffed on 3 and 6. My last opponent was playing pirates but stayed on 4. They were slightly stronger than I was going into the end, and knocked me to low health, but I managed to grab a pair of Toxfins, recover, and take them down. By itself, it wasn't a phenomenal game, but it was a victory, and it bookended the previous game. So yeah, I felt really good about my Hearthstone last night.

This... Actually isn't bad. You still get the four arena tickets (600 gold) so you're really only paying 650 for the perks (instead of 1900).

That sounds doable.

Blackjack is a game with zero skill. You have no control over what cards you are dealt. I've been calling casinos out for years for supporting a crap game and now nearly everyone agrees with me about it. The ones who don't agree are just fooling themselves into thinking blackjack is anything other than pure RNG garbage.

The last time I played blackjack I took fifteen minutes to stand on 19 just to troll the dealer and waste his time. Man I owned that guy.

And it takes zero skill to use Basic Strategy so there is absolutely no difference between a pro and a brand new player.

Counting Cards in blackjack = knowing all the possible cards in your opponents deck/hand in hearthstone

Basic Strategy in blackjack = playing cards optimally in hearthstone

Card shuffling machines in blackjack = increased card generation in hearthstone

It's looking increasingly like a perfect analogy if you ask me.

Battlegrounds offers you a random hero selection, random minions, random targeting, and the only things you have an actual choice over is position on the board, hero power, and upgrading the tavern, the last of which means dick. On top of all that, the games take far too long to play.

Like do you actually think Id find Battlegrounds skill-based? Its even worse than constructed, because constructed at least offers the illusion of choice.

And therein lies my point. Even in Battlegrounds, there are skill-testing elements. I will concede that the mode is much more heavily centered around rote knowledge and dependent on randomness, but the better players do still rise to the top. In that regard, I'd compare it to poker.

I also admit I misplay a ton in Battlegrounds, but it's mainly just being comfortable power leveling or not than anything else

This works with Murozond as well. You play the golden murozond and get your discover card, and also a golden copy of a minion from your opponents board which will give you another discover card. It's a fantastic way to discover two 6 drops.

I had more luck with Highlander Mage this month than with Highlander Priest. It's really hard to win in this meta without having at least a few ways to have big, unfair turns and Priest just doesn't have that right now outside of the Highlander package. It's really only a value machine. Meanwhile, Mage has Solarian, Conjurer's Calling, Malygos, the good Reno, and both Dragoncaster and Tortollan to go with Puzzle Box, Power of Creation, and Deep Freeze, PLUS Zephrys and Dragonqueen.

All that said, I only played maybe 80 games of standard all month. Just gonna hang out at Diamond 5 and not care about Legend anymore.

Including this adorable new variant I've been running into a lot that I can only describe as spell control Demon Hunter. It's real bad against control and honestly I don't know what it's supposed to be favored against.

Since about 80% of my friends list is from here, does someone here use SoggyMolotov on battle.net? He mentioned sending me something on Messenger, which confused me because I'm pretty sure I've never used any program/app/whatever named Messenger in my life. Wonder who he ended up contacting or thinking I was.

I just had a Battlegrounds game where I killed the first 6 people 6 turns in a row, then got ready for my final match to go 7 for 7, but he died to the 4th place ghost. -_-

Sorry, but as usually the things you are linking are not saying what you say they are saying.

"Skill doesn't matter as much as it used to" =/= "Skill does not matter"

Please start contributing actual content to these topics or I'm just going to make a bot that posts garbage links every few days and we will all block you and never know the difference.
