Lightweight Tournament

Match 1: Sonic vs. Zero Suit Samus

Mystery host: Normally when Samus is out of her suit, bad things happen, but well see how she fares today.

*The two fight evenly at the start and no serious damage is done, but Sonic grabs the Smash ball when it appears and uses it to KO ZSS (Sonic 3-2)*

Mystery co-host: That Super Sonic speed is nothing to sneeze at, speaking from personal experience.

*ZSS comes back aggressively and nearly self-destructs off the side, but then she KOd Sonic with an up-smash after recovering (2-2)*

Mystery host: Samus turned potential disaster into a critical shot to keep her in the match. Sometimes disaster is meant to be averted, I guess.

*Sonic uses his speed to gain the advantage, but he cant land a killing shot. ZSS nearly launches Sonic off the side and uses the time he needs to recover to grab a Smash Ball and KOd him with her Final Smash (ZSS 2-1)*

Mystery co-host: Looks like the suit came in handy right there!

*Sonic spin dashes and homing dashes to rack up percentage and then KOd ZSS with an air-tilt (1-1)*

Mystery host: Coming down to the wire here for these two. How will it play out?

*The two trade blows and when a Smash Ball appears, it looks like Sonic is going to get it, but ZSS manages to knock him away far enough for her to grab it and end the match with her Final Smash (ZSS wins 1-0)*

Mystery host: Zero Suit Samus wins! Samus getting that second Smash Ball turned out to be the deciding factor today.

Mystery co-host: A hard-fought match, but Sonics speed couldnt compensate for his lack of power. He just cant seem to beat Samus in any form or format.

Match 2: Mr. Game & Watch vs. Kirby

Mystery host: Two of our smallest fighters duking it out in this one. I guess that can be a nice change of pace once in a while.

*Both sides come out aggressively. They fight a lot off the edge of the stage and Kirby tries to use his reach advantage to KO G&W, but it doesnt work. A Smash Ball appears and Kirby wins the fight for it and uses it to KO G&W (Kirby 3-2)*

Mystery co-host: Both fighters are going at it with all theyve got. Sometimes its just a matter of one punch or kick that determines victory or defeat.

*G&W keeps trying to KO Kirby with strong attacks, but Kirby barely hangs on for a couple of times. The third time is the charm as Kirby gets KOd at 155% (2-2)*

Mystery host: Kirbys durability is better than Id have expected from a pink marshmallow.

*Kirby comes back attacking and nearly KOd G&W with an up-smash. The two fight over a Smash Ball, and Kirby gets it again. However, he saves it, knowing G&W is at 115% and instead KOd him with a neutral-air (Kirby 2-1)*
Mystery co-host: Very smart decision by Kirby there to save the Final Smash, knowing he could get the KO without it and save it for the next stock.

*G&W is very hesitant and tries to keep his distance from Kirby, but the puffball eventually closes in and deals some damage, following up with the Final Smash to end the match (Kirby wins 2-0)*

Mystery host: Kirby wins! I didnt expect that sort of tactical intelligence from someone like him.

Mystery co-host: Kirbys aggressive approach gives him the win. Game & Watch tried to bait Kirby into misusing his Final Smash, but he didnt fall for it.

Match 3: Little Mac vs. Duck Hunt

Mystery host: This is a very odd, old-school matchup we have on our hands with this battle.

*Little Mac comes out throwing haymakers and edge guards Duck Hunt to build up damage before KOing them with an up-smash (Mac 3-2)*

Mystery co-host: Little Mac fighting like a true prize boxer, staying in Duck Hunts face and never giving them room to breathe.

*Little Mac continues to push Duck Hunt into the corner. A Smash Ball appears and Little Mac somehow cant break it. Duck Hunt manages to recover and pushes Mac off the edge to break the Smash Ball. Duck Hunt lands the Final Smash, but Little Mac is barely able to get back to the stage. Duck Hunt hits a few attacks and sends Little Mac flying off the top (2-2)*

Mystery host: Wow, what a wild sequence of events that was. It looked like Little Mac was going to put the match out of reach, but Duck Hunt did just enough to stay in it.

*Undeterred, Little Mac comes back swinging. Duck Hunt manages to hold off getting KOd on a few strong punches, but Mac eventually lands the killing blow (Mac 2-1)*

Mystery co-host: Thats what I like to see. Dont let a minor setback change your strategy and just keep doing what you do best.

*Little Mac keeps Duck Hunt cornered at the edge of the stage, but Duck Hunt keeps holding on and manages to get back on the stage to rack up some damage. Duck Hunt gets another Smash Ball and sets up the KO (1-1)*

Mystery host: Duck Hunt, more like Luck Hunt with their ability to get the Smash Ball at just the right time!

*Unfortunately, Duck Hunts percentage is too high from all of Macs vicious punches, so it only takes a couple of hits to KO them for good and end the match (Mac wins 1-0)*

Mystery host: Little Mac wins! I love a good underdog story, especially when their hopes ultimately get dashed, hahaha.

Mystery co-host: Little Macs aggressive style while also managing to minimize Duck Hunts opportunities to take advantage of his weaknesses adds up to a smartly played win.

Match 4: Daisy vs. Rosalina & Luma

Mystery host: Well also see these two square off in the tag team tournament, so this could be a sneak preview.

*Rosalina racks up a lot of damage quickly, but Daisy perseveres and starts to even things up. They fight over a Smash Ball, but Daisy makes a silly mistake and winds up under the stage with no hope of recovery, slowly floating to her demise with her parasol (Rosalina 3-2)*

Mystery co-host: With death, its the waiting I cant stand. Just make it quick and painless, I say.

*Rosalina takes the Smash ball and uses Luma to knock Daisy into the Final Smash for a quick KO (Rosalina 3-1)*

Mystery host: I normally prefer to work alone, but thats some good teamwork.

*Daisy desperately comes out and KOd Rosalina with some well-placed smashes (Rosalina 2-1)*

Mystery co-host: Its about time Daisy picked up the pace.

*Daisy keeps on the attack and manages to get rid of Luma for a while. Rosalina gets another Smash Ball but Daisy avoids the Final Smash. Luma returns and Rosalina uses it to land an up-smash to finish the match (Rosalina wins 2-0)*

Mystery host: Rosalina wins! I wonder what Luigi thought watching all of that.

Mystery co-host: Daisy waits too long to start taking the match seriously.

Match 5: Greninja vs. Zelda

Mystery host: Our final 1-on-1 match of the week features another one of those plucky Pokemon!

*Zelda lands a barrage of attacks early and takes a big advantage in percentage. However, Greninja pushes Zelda off the edge and jumps off of her head to knock her out at the bottom of the stage (Greninja 3-2)*

Mystery co-host: That frog-like maneuver is a little nostalgic.

*Zelda keeps attacking but Greninja staves off getting KOd despite her best efforts. Finally, a well-placed Dinns Fire blasts him off the stage (2-2)*

Mystery host: Destroying stuff with fire is a little nostalgic.

*However, Zelda took too long to KO him, so Greninja comes back with a flurry of attacks to rack up a lot of percentage and sends her flying off to regain the advantage (Greninja 2-1)*

Mystery co-host: I like the aggressive approach to retake the lead.

*Zelda plays defensively to minimize her own damage as she keeps hitting Greninja hard until she finally grabs him and literally throws him off the screen (1-1)*

Mystery host: That was one powerful throw. That brought back unpleasant memories.

*Zelda evens up their percentage quickly, but Greninja stops messing around and hops over Zeldas down-B to end the match (Greninja wins 1-0)*

Mystery host: Greninja wins! That was a nice move to win the match.

Mystery co-host: Zelda fought well but Greninja just outplayed her where it mattered.

And that's all for tonight!

Tag Team Tournament

Match 1: Samus/Dark Samus vs. Ness/Lucas

Mystery host: Its time to begin the tag team tournament, with a 5 minute time limit. Everyone enjoys the drama of a countdown, right?

*Samus and Dark Samus make a concerted effort to KO Ness and after battering him off the edge of the stage for a while, they succeed. Ness and Lucas pile on the damage on the other team, but their heavy armor makes them difficult to KO. Finally, Ness lands a side smash to send Samus out of the arena at 155%. Dark Samus follows shortly thereafter at 175%, after Lucas knocks it into the air from the momentum of hitting himself with his up-B, and then Ness follows it up with a direct hit from his own up-B to finish Dark Samus off*

Mystery co-host: The Samuses looked to be working well together at the start, but the psychic boys are really in synch right now.

*Ness gets a Final Smash and seemingly activates it too early because Dark Samus is able to weather the storm with its initial invincibility frames after returning and Samus only takes minimal damage. However, Samus gets pushed too far away to make it back to the stage and gets KOd at only 35%. Lucas gets a Final Smash of his own and activates it right away. In the midst of the chaos, Samus manages to KO Ness, but her focus on him prevents her from dodging the Final Smash and she gets KOd again*

Mystery host: Ouch, tough break for Samus, getting knocked out by consecutive finishers.

*Samus comes right back and finally KOd Lucas for the first time with a side-smash. Samus and Dark Samuss Final Smash gauges fill up at almost the exact same time, and they blast both boys with back to back Final Smashes for the double KO*

Mystery co-host: Its always nice to see a double technique from partners in action.

*However, Ness grabs a Smash Ball upon returning and nails Dark Samus for a KO at 145%. Lucas persistently dogs Samus with his Up-B trying to KO her off the stage and eventually takes a risk to chase her off the side, and then meteor strikes her for the KO. Dark Samus racks up some damage on Ness and finally launches him off the screen with its side-B. Lucas gets his Final Smash but barely manages to hit either character, and then Ness follows up with a side smash to KO Dark Samus*

Mystery host: Wow, sometimes its the ones youd least expect that turn out to be the most dangerous.

*Samus gets her Final Smash and tries to line up the shot, but Lucas blasts her with an up-smash to KO her. Ness gets another Final Smash and the sheer relentlessness of the attack pushes Samus too far out to recover, although Dark Samus gets back with its Final Smash and nails Lucas with it for a KO of its own*

Mystery host: Ness and Lucas win, +2 to -2! How did they keep getting so many Final Smashes?

Mystery co-host: Samus got KOd 6 times, which was the most of anyone, and Dark Samus could only register 2 KOs of its own, so its offensive woes from its individual match continue. Despite being smaller, Ness/Lucas simply had better teamwork and actually were able to take a lot of punishment. Ness dealt by far the most damage of any fighter.

Match 2: Young Link/Toon Link vs. Roy/Chrom

Mystery host: And now its time to see if Roy and Chrom can put aside what happened in Roys match with Robin.

*Roy and Chrom come out of the gate dealing heavy damage. They manage to knock Young Link off the stage and drive him down too far to recover. Both sides continue to rack up damage but cant land any decisive kill shots. Roy hits Young Link with his neutral-B to blast him beyond stage recovery for another KO Toon Link keeps taking a beating but hangs in there until he gets blasted by Chroms up-B to get KOd at 175%*

Mystery co-host: The Fire Emblem team seems intensely focused in the early goings of this match, for sure. Thats a good sign.

*Literally all four characters have their Smash Gauge fill up at the same time, but Chrom strikes first to KO Young Link yet again. Roy tries his Final Smash on Toon Link but whiffs completely. Toon Link punishes the miss with a side-smash to KO him. Then he hits Chrom with his own Final Smash for another KO in rapid succession. Young Link finally uses his Final Smash but he hits Roy at 0%, so its not enough for the kill. Chrom grabs a Smash Ball and perfectly times it to KO both Links*

Mystery host: Thats a lot of Final Smashes! Chrom is on fire right now.

*With all four characters relatively fresh in terms of percentage, they battle for a while, but Young Link knocks Chrom off the screen and tries to follow after him to finish the job. It looks like it will succeed, but Chrom hits his up-B and brings Young Link down with him*

Mystery co-host: A rookie mistake by Young Link there. Im sure hell figure it out as he gets older.

*Chrom chases Toon Link off the stage and hits him with a side-air to bounce him off the underside of the stage for a KO*

Mystery host: Now thats how you do it.

*Toon Links Final Smash gauge fills up and manages to catch both Roy and Chrom in its crosshairs for a double KO Roys Final Smash gauge fills up and this time he makes good on it, hitting Young Link for the instant KO. Young Link catches both fighters in his Final Smash as well, but Roy manages to survive, although Chrom gets KOd again. Roy fights his way back to the stage and manages to up-smash Toon Link for the KO. Young Link gets another Smash Ball and KOs Roy with 2 seconds to go*

Mystery host: Roy and Chrom win, +3 to -3! Fire Emblem seems to do best when theyre fighting for their friends, as disgusting as that is to even say aloud.

Mystery co-host: Chrom was the star here, amassing 7 total KOs, while Young Link took 6 KOs. Looks like Roy and Chrom were able to put aside the potential drama from Roys match and work together for a decisive victory.

Match 3: Game & Watch/R.O.B. vs. Captain Falcon/Ganondorf

Mystery host: Its a matchup of old school style vs. raw strength here! Who will come out on top?

*Captain Falcon gets up to 75% and Ganondorf gets up to 115% before they even hit the other team for the first time. R.O.B. launches Ganondorf off the side and goes for the followup, but Ganondorf hits him with the up-B. However, R.O.B. hits him with the down-air to prevent him from recovering to the stage*

Mystery co-host: Captain Falcon and Ganondorf really seem to have underestimated their opponents. It already feels like theyre on the ropes.

*Ganondorfs Smash Gauge fills up and he uses it to KO R.O.B. but G&W manages to survive. However, Ganondorf is ready for him and hits him with a side-smash for a vicious KO. Almost immediately afterwards, R.O.B. respawns and obliterates Falcon with an up-smash for a KO of his own*

Mystery host: Ganondorf looks like hes bounced back, but Falcon still seems like hes in a daze. Can he get it together?

*G&Ws Smash Gauge fills up and he uses it to forcefully drag Ganondorf off the screen for a KO. Then R.O.B. gets his Final Smash and blasts Captain Falcon with it, but his percentage is too low to get KOd. Falcon returns the favor with his own Final Smash, but likewise, he cant KO R.O.B. with it. G&W and Falcon fight over the Smash Ball, but G&W emerges with it and carries Falcon off the edge for the KO. Ganondorf blasts G&W off the screen with an air-tilt for the KO. Then his Smash Gauge fills up right as R.O.B. knocks him off the screen. He activates the Final Smash to recover back to the stage and KO G&W in the process*

Mystery co-host: Wow, impressive work using your Final Smash as a means of recovery and landing a KO at the same time.

*All four characters go crazy off the left side of the stage trying to KO each other, nearly succeeding several times. Once they get back on stage, Ganondorf side-smashes R.O.B. for the KO as Captain Falcons Smash Gauge fills up. He uses it to KO G&W right after. G&W comes right back and up-smashes Captain Falcon for the revenge KO as R.O.B.s Smash Gauge fills up. He uses it to blast Ganondorf, who finally gets KOd at 210%. With time waning, Ganondorf gets his Final Smash and gets a double KO. G&Ws Smash Gauge fills up but he cant find the opportunity to use it before time runs out*

Mystery host: Captain Falcon and Ganondorf win, +2 to -2! Its always nice to see evil prevail, even if its second rate evil.

Mystery co-host: Ganondorf was easily the MVP here, registering 7 KOs and only getting KOd 3 times despite taking by far the most damage. R.O.B. fought hard and dealt twice as much damage as he received, but G&W was perhaps still fatigued from his lightweight tourney loss.

Match 4: Rosalina & Luma/Banjo-Kazooie vs. Peach/Daisy

Mystery host: We saw Rosalina make short work of Daisy 1-on-1, but will anything change once their tag partners are thrown into the mix?

*Daisy starts off slow again, taking a lot of damage early, but nobody is able to land any decisive blows for the first minute of the match. Then Daisy gets her revenge for their earlier match and chases Rosalina off the stage and blasts her with a side-air for the KO. Unfortunately, she didnt leave herself enough space to get back to the stage, so she self-destructs in the process*

Mystery co-host: Ouch, tough break for Daisy. Sometimes you cant be too obsessed with revenge, although Im not sure my partner would agree.

*Daisy gets her Final Smash and puts both opponents to sleep but chooses to heal damage rather than go for a big attack. Then Rosalina gets her Final Smash and uses it right as Peach is recovering to the stage, so she lands right in the middle of it and gets KOd. Banjo gets his Final Smash as well but whiffs. Daisy grabs another Smash Ball and knocks the opponents unconscious again. Peach doesnt let this opportunity pass her by as she finally KOs Banjo at 205%. Daisy tries to side-smash Rosalina but cant hit it before she wakes up*

Mystery host: Im getting sleepy just watching Daisy repeatedly fail here. Its not as fun to see them utterly humiliated if they dont have some success first.

*Peach gets her Final Smash, but once again, they are unable to blast the opponents before they wake up. All four opponents meet head on at high percentages, and Rosalina is able to blast Daisy off the side for a KO. Banjo gets his Final Smash and hits Daisy with it, but her percentage is too low for it to KO her. Then Daisy hits Rosalina and Banjo with back-to-back up-smashes to KO them both. Banjo comes right back and hits Peach with the side-smash to KO her*

Mystery co-host: This has been a back and forth match! Im not sure whos going to win.

*Daisy gets yet another Final Smash and manages to blast Banjo afterwards, but she cant KO him with her side-B. Shortly thereafter, Banjo hits Daisy with his side-smash for a KO. Peach gets her Final Smash, and this time, Daisy does blast Banjo for the KO with 30 seconds to go. Rosalina gets her Final Smash but misplays it and doesnt hit anyone*

Mystery host: Ouch, that one could be costly because

*Its Super Sudden Death as both teams tied with 0. Banjo wastes no time and hits Peach and Daisy simultaneously with his up-air to double KO them only a few seconds into sudden death*

Mystery host: Rosalina & Luma and Banjo-Kazooie win! That was a bit anticlimactic.

Mystery co-host: Daisy put forth a strong effort to make up for her lackluster singles match, doing the most damage and putting up the best individual score, as well as being the only one to give more damage than she took, but Peach only registered one KO the entire match, so it wasnt enough.

Match 5: Hero/Palutena vs. Link/Cloud

Mystery host: In another format, there would be no question who wins this, but well see how it goes here.

*All four characters come out hitting hard and the melee eventually pushes the fight off the edge of the stage. Palutena pushes Cloud down, who uses his up-B to hit her and Hero but cant recover to the stage. Hero quickly follows it up with a side-smash to KO Link as well*

Mystery co-host: Link and Cloud need to work on their chemistry here. They arent on the same page right now.

*Link and Cloud deal a series of powerful blows but cant quite land the killing shot. Link finally gets his Final Smash and nails Palutena with it to KO her at 145%. Hero gets his Final Smash and tries to hit Cloud with it but just barely misses over his head. Link makes him pay with an up-smash for the KO. Palutena gets her Final Smash and uses it to get revenge on Link for the KO. Cloud gets his Final Smash and waits patiently to line it up in order to catch both Hero and Palutena in its crosshairs for the double KO. Palutena grabs a stray Smash Ball and once again gets revenge with a Final Smash on Cloud for the KO*

Mystery host: Apparently, there is no fury quite like a goddess scorned!

*Link takes a lot of punishment but holds on long enough for his Final Smash gauge to fill up, and he nails Hero with it for the KO. He goes after Palutena next but she deflects one of his bombs back at him, resulting in a KO. Hero gets another Final Smash and doesnt miss this time, but he cant quite KO Link with it. Cloud gets his Final Smash and knocks up Hero for the KO right as Link hits Palutena with a side-smash for a KO as well. Palutena gets another Final Smash and once again takes her revenge by KOing Link with it. Then she follows it up with a side-smash on Cloud for another KO. Link gets revenge for his own revenge KO by blasting Palutena with his Final Smash with less than 30 seconds left*

Mystery host: Link and Cloud win, +1 to -1! The more things change, the more they stay the same, although Link isnt used to winning at the wire.

Mystery co-host: Palutena and Link were both the most effective fighters, but Hero could only get one KO despite dealing the most damage of anyone, while Cloud registered three KOs of his own and got KOd the least in the match.

And that's it for tonight! Free for all tomorrow to finish the week.

Match 1: Jigglypuff vs. Little Mac vs. Mario vs. Mii Brawler (Knuckles)

Mystery host: And now its time to get really crazy with the Free for All Tournament! Can Little Mac carry the momentum from his singles victory to another win here?

*Brawler and Little Mac quickly pair off and exchange some powerful blows. Mac manages to grab a Blue Shell and bides his time until it KOs Brawler. However, Mac is too worn down from battling with the Brawler, so hes easy pickings when Mario and Jigglypuff gang up on him and Jigglypuff sends him flying with an up-smash*

Mystery co-host: Mac apparently thought he was still in a 1-on-1 match!

*Little Mac gets his Final Smash but completely misses everyone with it. Brawler has more success with it, catching Little Mac and brutalizing him with his Final Smash before KOing him. Mario catches Jigglypuff with an up-smash to knock her right into the front of the screen for the KO*

Mystery host: Mario has been quite the opportunist so far. I knew he could be devious, but hes earning a bit of respect from me.

*Little Mac hits Brawler with the fully charged KO uppercut, which works as advertised. Jigglypuff gets her Final Smash, but totally misuses it by activating it at the top-left corner of the screen and hits no one. While hes distracted trying to avoid it, Mario doesnt see Brawler side-smash him off the screen for the KO*

Mystery co-host: Youve gotta stay aware of your surroundings when there are four fighters.

*Jigglypuff hits Brawler with a fully charged neutral B to eliminate him from the fight*

Mystery host: Mii Brawler cant continue the success that Gunner and Swordfighter had during their matches, as hes the first to go.

*Little Mac simultaneously blasts Mario and Jigglypuff with a side-smash for the double KO to reduce everyone to just one stock. Little Mac gets another Final Smash and once again completely misses. He grabs an Assist Trophy, but Jigglypuff takes advantage of the lag of activating it to KO him with her side-air and eliminate him*

Mystery co-host: And down goes Little Mac! Jigglypuff hits him when hes most vulnerable, a mistake Mac didnt make in his previous match.

*Macs Assist Trophy was Gray Fox, who wreaked havoc on both characters and upped their percentages, but it also fills Marios Final Smash gauge. However, before he can use it, Jigglypuff blasts him with an up-smash to win the match*

Mystery host: Jigglypuff wins! I didnt see that one coming.

Mystery co-host: Jigglypuff was a surprise powerhouse here, racking up the most KOs with 5. Despite finishing second, Mario only got one KO and only dealt 208% damage. He seemed content to sit back and let everyone beat each other up first. What a shame he couldnt use that infamous clutch to win at the last moment like hes done in the past.

1. Jigglypuff
2. Mario
3. Little Mac
4. Mii Brawler (Knuckles)

Match 2: Ken vs. Toon Link vs. Richter vs. Falco

Mystery host: We have one familiar face and three new faces in this match. Lets see if Toon Link has more success in this format.

*All four characters charge straight into the fight, with all of them quickly getting up to 100% damage each and going for several kill shots, before Richter lands the first one on Falco. Kens Smash Gauge fills up right as a Smash Ball appears, and he wisely plays it so that he double KOs Richter and Toon Link as they fight over it*

Mystery co-host: Ooh, very savvy move by Ken there. You can tell hes been doing this fighting thing for a long time by the way he acts out there.

*Falco takes advantage of this and swoops in to grab the Smash Ball and hits Ken with it, finally KOing him at 205%. Richter gets his Final Smash and completely misses with it. Toon Link likewise gets his but doesnt miss, catching Falco and sending him flying for the KO. Ken drifts too far to the right side of the screen and gets hit by a stray thrown item for a KO*

Mystery host: Too bad for Ken that hes not used to dealing with items flying everywhere in the fighting series he comes from.

*Falco grabs an Assist Trophy, and its the Moon from Majoras Mask, which crashes into the Egg Planet, quickly KOing Richter and then flattening Toon Link against the screen. Ken gets another Final Smash and catches Richter with it, but since hes just come back, it doesnt finish him off. Richter gets another Final Smash as well and doesnt miss this time, snatching Toon Link with it and KOing him to eliminate him from the match*

Mystery co-host: Another rough outing for Toon Link as hes the first one out of this match.

*Falco gets a Final Smash but misses. Richter and Falco rack up damage on Ken and then Richter eliminates Ken with an up-smash*

Mystery host: And now Ken is out, too. Were down to the final two.

*Richter tries to grab an Assist Trophy, but like the previous match, Falco takes advantage of the lag time needed to activate it to KO Richter and win the match*

Mystery host: Falco wins! Richter didnt learn from the last match, but Falco sure did.

Mystery co-host: Richter fought well and got the most KOs with 5 and dealt the most damage, but Falco KOd him twice, including when it mattered most. A good performance for Falco after falling behind early.

1. Falco
2. Richter
3. Ken
4. Toon Link

Match 3: Kirby vs. Wii Fit Trainer vs. Robin vs. Inkling

Mystery host: Three of the characters involved in this fight were winners in their singles matches this week, but can Wii Fit Trainer spoil their momentum and get a win of her own?

*Everyone gets involved in the brawl right away and racks up a lot of damage. Robin grabs an Assist Trophy, which KOs Inkling. Kirby grabs the Super Scope gun and hits Robin with a couple of fully charged shots for the KO. Wii Fit Trainer grabs the club and fully charges it before blasting Kirby for a KO*

Mystery co-host: The wild nature of free for alls is on full display early as we have three different KOs via three different items.

*Inkling gets a Final Smash and activates it, but Wii Fit Trainer blasts her for the KO as well. However, she still gets caught in the blast and Wii Fit Trainer gets KOd herself*

Mystery host: What is it with people dodging Inklings Final Smash and then getting hit by it later?

*Robin gets a Final Smash and catches Inkling in it, but since shes just returned, it doesnt KO her. Then he grabs the Smash Ball and uses it again, this time on Kirby and successfully getting the KO Inkling grabs the hammer, and despite their best efforts to run away, she double KOs Robin and Wii Fit Trainer*

Mystery co-host: Everyone fears the hammer in these matches, and for good reason. Its hard to get hit by that thing and survive.

*Wii Fit Trainer comes back and, along with Kirby, forces Inkling off the side of the stage and Kirby finishes her off with the KO, eliminating Inkling from the match. Kirbys Smash Gauge fills up, and he lures both Robin and Wii Fit Trainer into a trap by laying down a healing field and blasting them with his Final Smash as they step into it for a double KO and the win*

Mystery host: Kirby wins! The pink puffballs have been unstoppable this week.

Mystery co-host: Kirby landed the final KO on all three characters in an evenly fought match that couldve been won by anyone.

1. Kirby
2t. Robin
2t. Wii Fit Trainer
4. Inkling

Scoring note: Since Robin and Wii Fit Trainer were both listed as finishing 2nd in the results, I will accept everyone who had either character in 2nd or 3rd for scoring purposes.

Match 4: Ness vs. Donkey Kong vs. Lucas vs. Diddy Kong

Mystery host: Wow, weve got two tag teams going at it in this free for all. This could lead to some bad blood if things go awry. Thats what Im rooting for anyway.

*The teammates dont seem to show any regard for the other, as they attack everyone indiscriminately. Lucas gets the Andross Assist Trophy and KOs Ness with it on the first wave and Diddy with the second wave. Diddy very nearly gets KOd but his Final Smash activates and saves him, and he also uses it to land a double KO on Lucas and DK, who survived up to 195%*

Mystery co-host: Its truly a free for all so far as the tag team partners dont seem to be attempting to work together or coordinate their attacks.

*Ness gets his Final Smash and KOs Diddy with it and nearly pushes DK off the edge of the stage in the process. Lucas follows it up with a Final Smash of his own, and this time DK cant survive it, and Diddy gets eliminated from the match in the process*

Mystery host: And Diddy Kong is out! Now theres some nice teamwork. Why does it feel like Ness and Lucas get so many Final Smashes?

*DK gets a Final Smash and is about to hit Ness with it, but Lucas actually knocks Ness out of range with his side-smash but doesnt KO him. Lucas grabs the golden hammer and uses it to double KO Ness and DK, who is now also eliminated*

Mystery co-host: And both monkeys are out of the running now, thanks again to the devastating power of the hammer. Now that its just the two boys, how will they respond?

*Ness attacks Lucas with an explosive crate and follows it up with a shot from the ray gun to KO him. Ness gets his Final Smash and hits Lucas with it, but cant KO him, but this also fills up Lucass Smash Gauge. He doesnt fail to get the job done as he KOs Ness for the win*

Mystery host: Lucas wins! Another banner performance for the two psychics.

Mystery co-host: A stunning performance in the positive sense by Lucas who racks up a stunning 7 KOs and dealt nearly 150% more damage than the second closest fighter. A stunning performance in the negative sense by Donkey Kong who, despite being by far the biggest and strongest, doesnt get a single KO and dealt the least amount of damage. All three of Nesss KOs were dealt by Lucas, so well see if that affects their chemistry going forward.

1. Lucas
2. Ness
3. Donkey Kong
4. Diddy Kong

Match 5: Zero Suit Samus vs. Villager vs. Roy vs. Zelda

Mystery host: Like the previous match, we have three competitors from the singles matches, but only Zero Suit Samus was a winner, although Roy did win his tag match.

*Everyone gangs up on Villager for some reason, as he quickly accumulates a lot of damage and Zelda KOs him with a side-air. Everyone continues to pick on Villager as he quickly accumulates a lot of damage again and Zelda KOs him again, this time with her fully-charged down-B*

Mystery co-host: Nobody likes Villager, huh? What is it? Is it the creepy face? Its the creepy face, isnt it?

*Villager comes back with a vengeance and quickly gets a double KO on Zelda and ZSS. Roy gets hit with a Blue Shell but manages to survive, but he gets hit by a thrown item offscreen for a KO. ZSS gets her Final Smash and tries to eliminate Villager. She catches him in the initial wave to rack up the damage but he barely manages to dodge the final blast. Zelda gets her Final Smash and catches ZSS in it, but shes too low to get KOd. Roy gets his Final Smash right after that and puts Villager out of his misery with a Critical Hit*

Mystery host: And Villager is the first one out. Yikes, that was a rough debut.

*A Smash Ball appears next to an explosive crate, so everyone is reluctant to try to break it open until the crate disappears. Roy is the lucky winner this time and double KOs Zelda and ZSS, eliminating the latter from the match*

Mystery co-host: Roy had a hard time landing his Final Smash in his other matches, but hes obliterating everyone with it here.

*Sandbag appears and for some reason, Zelda gets obsessed with just beating the crap out of it until it disappears. Roy counters Zeldas down-B to send her flying but she holds on. Shes able to grab an Assist Trophy, which then KOs Roy. Zelda gets her Final Smash and catches Roy in it to rack up the damage and get them even on the final stock. The Assist Trophy deals a bit more damage and it looks like Zelda might finish the job, but Roy nails her with a well-timed charged neutral B for the victory*

Mystery host: Roy wins! Another tough loss for Zelda, but well-played by Roy at the end there.

Mystery co-host: Roy responded well to his humiliating shutout in the singles match with a tag team win and now a free for all win. Roy and Zelda did all the heavy lifting here, as they got 10 of the 11 KOs in this match. Villager got one and ZSS got none. Roy and Zelda combined for over 900% of damage given, while ZSS and Villager barely combined for 250% of damage given.

1. Roy
2. Zelda
3. Zero Suit Samus
4. Villager

Mystery host: And that's it for the first week of the Smash Ultimate Fighting League. I think we can drop these facades now. I'm pretty sure everyone's figured it out by now, right? After all, we couldn't let seven of the Noble Nine be represented while we get shafted, so this is Sephiroth.

Mystery co-host: And this is Crono, signing off until next week.
