I always thought Justice League was supposed to be a 2 part series, part 1 was Steppinwolf as the villain, and part 2 was Darkseid focused.

So I have always assumed the Snyder cut was just his version of the Steppinwolf part, probably with a lot more Darkseid in there, and have it end with a cliffhanger, like Steppinwolf loses but then Darkseid shows up and starts the dark future we saw in BVS.

But now I have heard stories that the Snyder cut is actually both parts, so the entire Darkseid story? If so, I am way more excited for it now... that would be an insane amount of footage they left on the cutting room floor if that is true

It sounds like the project is going to be up as a mini series. We just don't know how many parts.

They aren't filming anything new though, so did Snyder film the whole Darkseid arc already? Or will this have a massive cliff hanger because he was going to make a part 2?
