Since it's in Oblivion and Skyrim anyway. I walk to the destinations and "discover" them first but the game is tedious if you walk everywhere.

I always go for a good resist magic potion/spell and the boots of blinding speed. Add a good levitation spell and you can just fly everywhere.

I remember even on xbox there was a way to make busted enchantments where you could leap halfway across the map. There was also a way to prevent the fall damage from it but it's been so long I forget.
