• If you are healthy, you only need to wear a mask if you are taking care of a person with COVID-19.
• Wear a mask if you are coughing or sneezing.
• Masks are effective only when used in combination with frequent hand-cleaning with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
• If you wear a mask, then you must know how to use it and dispose of it properly.

So wearing a mask 100% of the time when out and about is...not necessary if youre healthy. Kind of disparages the whole mask shaming and running people out of stores thing.

Ive found it odd that america has really doubled down on the mask shaming above all things despite it not really being a central part of covid advice, and at the same time being totally lackadaisical in other ways, like actual social distancing.

I would understand if america was a country like South Korea where anything and everything was culturally considered a concern... but it seems like you guys are annoyed about tourists pissing in the ocean while being ok with shitting in the pool.

only mask shaming i've seen is weirdos verbally harassing people for wearing a mask.

Bingo. I wore a mask in a hospital Tuesday and spent more time touching my facial area than I would have otherwise.

This. You can feel healthy and still spread it. What's so hard about putting on a mask? It's not like they are asking you to join the war font. Jesus.

Because its almost pointless. Youre increasing your risk of infection by having to adjust it and taking it on and off. Add in the fact that they can restrict breathing.
