Did you mention to your mom that clergy members of the very church he was posing by were also tear gassed and hurt? Were they throwing rocks?

What you need to do is appear open to her ideas. Get in her head and figure out how to say your thoughts from a perspective shed be willing to listen to. While doing this force her to hold internally consistent beliefs by non threateningly bringing up her previous statements if they become contradictory. The only way to get through to a person is to get them to lower their mental guard.

I state that almost everyone that was there claims otherwise. And regardless, it was a photo opp and unnecessary.

Her new position: well he's the president and if he wants to take a picture, they need to be cleared out. Or else he'd be in danger.

I hate it. My fucking mother is a brainwashed dumbass that criticizes all news media except anything right wing. Thankfully she doesn't even vote....but still, disappointed is an understatement.

Honestly, just keep talking to her about it and dont give up. Keep laying out the facts and having these discussions because it is important regardless if she votes or not.
