it's just purely lip service for PR and basically say " hey hey we care!! look at us! we're good people"

while they won't think twice screwing workers people or smaller companies to get slightly better results for quarter reports.

i support and agree with the movement, but coming from big companies i smell bullshit.

Modern Warfare has some commitment message overtaking literally all the loading screens and the main menu screen right now. They pushed out an update that wasnt season 4 just for that.

I still just died to a guy named [Die] Blacks in my last match anyway.

Looked at the list and some of them are fan or staff lead, not by the companies themselves, but EA of all companies donated a million, and square enix a quarter of a million.

Yes.

Jumping on a bandwagon is not showing solidarity. It shows that you are willing to talk out of both sides of your mouth and is actually insulting to those who actually are emotionally involved in these issues.

Nobody but a select few were upset at BFV because of that

People were annoyed because they were basically making Battlefield 1.5 with hella recycled assets and nothing people wanted (Russian campaign, eastern front, D-Day) and made it look like a fucking Borderlands game in the launch trailer

People typically play video games to relax and take their mind off of the troubles of the outside world, so naturally most people are probably not amused to see the outside world brought to the games.

I can understand themes and other story related imagery, but this is a flat out current events response. Activision doesnt want to be the one company promoting their brand when nobody else is.

I'm with you there. A lot of it just feels like lip service. At least a number of game companies have actually donated, but it's still a pittance compared to what they actually have. It is just PR for them. With game companies, I don't care if they support BLM; I want to see them enrich their employee's lives. It means cutting down on abusive work policies and cutthroats measures. Take-Two Interactive absolutely destroyed an indie development studio recently, just because they wanted to work on the game themselves without relying on an intermediary.
