I have never been more pissed playing this. So I'm at the big part where I gotta hit some buttons and there's a bunch of enemies and a gatling gun guy and just a lot. I hunkered down. Picked everyone off. Took some hits, but was clutch. Then I check everything, go up a ladder, turn into a small building and there's a mace asshole just waiting for me. Swings and hits me as soon as I enter the fucking room. I turned to see him and everything, but couldn't even aim a gun. That just took like 15 minutes. Fuck.

Ada saving my ass again.

Really wish I could use these yellow herbs alone. Not gonna waste that many greens on Ashlet to increase her health. Might as well sell 'em maybe.

Annnnd no more parasites. Nice. This feels like the endgame for sure.

Man that was super easy. Granted I was stocked to the gills, but barely had to use anything.

OH! Dats da "No Way" meme. Shit. Ha. Ashley got shut right down.

Whelp. That's it. Thought the ending was actually far too easy compared to the rest of the game. Didn't really get there tension wise. But still, phenomenal game for 2005 and it holds up well. Great. Possibly my favorite in the series. Either this or REmake.

Yeah I used 'em all on me. Gave her two total after I was topped off and she needed a green anyway. Sold the rest for inventory space.

Still, this had to have been the best "escort mission" ever at this point. The amount of control is perfect. She got in the way twice total. Being able to hide her in bins sure helped.

Man. Good ass video game.

Escort missions are never good. RE4 having one of the least worst ones isn't a positive IMO.

But at least they were smart enough to make her try to stay out of the way, duck when you shoot and gave you pretty of holes to throw her into and leave there. Pity Natalya never learned that.

Some things are just bad/lazy game design.

These foggy cutscenes are killing me. Really wish they re-did them.

Oh yeah. That alter. This is pretty good. I was a bit worried this would be sorta phoned in, add nothing, etc. Like Born From a Wish in SH2. This is real quality though. Not adding anything huge. More of the same, but it's fun.

Glad they didn't just redo a boss fight here that'd make zero sense. Gave a nice chainsaw woman instead. But I just ran the fuck out of that shack, all the way back to the start, took out my rifle and that was nooooo problem. Lamed it out, but so what.

Awww yeah. Luis and Ada. Feel like they'd make a great couple.

Luis really was a good dude. Sucks he got got.

Not big on this pump shotgun. My striker was way better. This gets the job done though. Also wish I had my Red9.

Wow that whole blow up the ship and use turrets section was money. Super tense and cut it close. That was one thing I was surprised to see not happen in the main game, a turret section. Those were all the rage back in the PS2 days.

God damn. Turned the corner after all that and nearly blew away the merchant. Dude was just standing there and startled me. If I kill 1 they are just gone from the game right? No way to get 'em back?

Wow. Died to a gatling gun guy in the pit cause I thought I was covered and it send me all the way back to the tower where like 20 guys drop in. That's the first case of bad checkpointing I've come across.

Alright past that. Had to use 4 exploding arrows on each gatling guy.

Man I just sniped a dickhead with an RPG that was looking over the cliff where Mike died. I think that's supposed to be the asshole that killed Mike.

Here's where Leon gets kinky. Thought they'd do a QTE to stab him.

Ha. The creepy sack. Ada shut the damn lid on that thing.

Used a bunch of arrows. That sucked. That was legit the only bad part of this entire game. Terrible boss fight. Hell if you hit the QTEs too early you still get hit because your animation finishes before the attack does.

Alright Saddler fight was way better. Very nice. Plus I like fighting a bad guy while they look like a bad guy pre-transformation.

Good countdown ending too. Finished it with just 12 seconds to spare.

In Assignment Ada, you run through the first section of the island and retrieve plaga samples. Separate Ways wasn't in the Gamecube release, so Assignment Ada was all the Ada you got to play. It's mediocre, but it's very short and worth playing.

Yeah Separate Ways is an actual side story that follows what Ada was doing throughout the main game. Adds a little bit. Nothing vital, but it's a good time.

Assignment Ada is noncanon btw.

I dunno if you ever play things like it, but I really suggest the Mercenaries minigame. There are some fun characters to unlock there.

Every time you play him there are two possible outcomes:

1. You are the God of Death, terrible and mighty, carving a swath of destruction that will be told of in whispers around the campfires of man for a thousand years.

2. Someone eats your face.

Doing Professional mode now. Usually don't jump right back in, but I wanted to see how the opening played now with more experience annnnnnd just kinda kept going.

It's night and day compared to my first time through. Crushing it. Haven't seen much of a difficulty spike yet, but that'll probably come later in the castle or on the island. This is actually the only trophy left to get too. No platinum for this game which is a bit weird because every other RE game has had one so far. But after this I'll have 100%ed CV, REmake, Zero and this.

Professional kicked my ass to the curb plenty of times. If you really want to shake things up, do No Merchant. It's easier than Pro, but hooo man taking on Novistadors with 10 handgun rounds was one of the most nerve-wracking experiences I've had with the game.
