Professional kicked my ass to the curb plenty of times. If you really want to shake things up, do No Merchant. It's easier than Pro, but hooo man taking on Novistadors with 10 handgun rounds was one of the most nerve-wracking experiences I've had with the game.
That sounds awful. I'll probably try it down the line lol.

The gameplay is so fun, this is the type of game I can see myself coming back to and playing in different ways.

pro doesnt start to get dicey until the castle and beyond. the first two chapters are pretty straight forward if youve played the game before. 2 hits pretty much do you in and one hit to ashley.

Krauser always felt like a weird character.

They portray him as if he was like an old character from a previous game we all know and have history with.

When hes just some dude who turned up

Yeah I played RE4 first and I definitely assumed he was a main character from the previous games, lol.

I think the enemies get lower health or the bullets do more damage if you have low ammo, or grenades do more damage or some shit.

RE4 had some pretty ahead of the curve adaptive difficulty that the RE series still uses today

Made it to the island today. Being super smart with my money. Just fully upgraded my Red9 and got an exclusive upgrade. Got pretty much the same load out as last time, only more things upgraded. Knowing what's coming up allows me to easily know when to unload a clip and then upgrade capacity to get free ammo. Super useful. Also used the free RPG on the guy you had to freeze. Fucking wrecked him in one hit. Hardest part so far was actually the big pit with the caves where you fight a ton of those flying assholes. Just kept getting overwhelmed. Salazar and the elevator ride were both shockingly easy, but I knew just what to do for them.

And yeah, it's kinda nuts this game had that adaptive difficulty given it's release date.

Professional Mode done. All trophies got. RE4 is in the books.

Hope you enjoyed the topic. Super appreciate the help. Glad to finally check this classic off the list, but now we can move on to the big time! Keep an eye out in the upcoming weeks or months for my playthrough on Umbrella Chronicles!

RE4 is one of the few games that I played twice in a row, and like you did professional mode afterwards. I tend to like professional until the island and then it becomes tedious. I'm not sure if that is because I'm playing the game twice in a row, or if the island is just...unfun on professional. Krauser and the enemies just have too much health, and the island itself is by far the weakest part of the game.
