These hot as fuck days are killing me. I have a big privacy fenced yard with a flat enough area for a decently sized above-ground pool.

Pros? Cons? I know one obvious con is that first water bill after filling it up. Other than dumping cleaning chemicals in it every once in awhile how bad is it to have one?

IDK shit about above ground pools. Mine's in ground and it requires around 15-30 min of daily attention for basic upkeep. The hardest work is opening and closing it. Also, pool supplies and chemicals are expensive as shit. I imagine it's killer on the electric bill too

Pros: You never have to re-set one up again.
It's always there if you want to use it
It's great for social gatherings

Cons: Cleaning it (which honestly, if you keep on top of it, or don't live in a wooded area/around trees can be negated pretty heavily)
The chemicals(I'm not sure what the costs are, so I'm not sure if this even counts as a con, tbh)

worst part imo is, well during the cold seasons we drain it and put a tarp over it but that doesnt stop It from getting nasty. Getting it clean and refilling it before summer can be a lot of work, and if you wait too long it gets too hot to be doing all that.

we also have to fill in cracks and reapply a lining around the interior so the bottom of the pool doesnt rub the skin off your feet

yeah kind of a pain in the ass but its worth it in the end

edit: Talking about in-ground pool Im sure above ground pools are easier
