Has anyone actually flipped their opinion or have people taken new information and used it to build a more complex answer to questions of lockdown and quaratine?

There is no vaccine. There is little social distancing occurring in the majority of protests shown in media. 100,000 deaths in the U.S. with half a million+ worldwide.

Please don't begin with .3% chance of death!, as a rebuttal.

People will do whatever they want to, and some people just want to yell. Thats how it has always been. The people that screamed "STAY HOME AND STAY HEALTHY!" at those who lost their businesses are the same ones saying "Get out there and make you voice heard!" while the pandemic is still going on.

The opinions flipped. It was literally "Why are some places open? Do they want people to die?" The day before. Then a fucking day went by, riots started, and suddenly no one cared about staying home.

Instantly. Like a light switch.

Go on, claim that thousands of people simultaneously changed their opinions based on logic and reason. I love a good joke.

People are just misrepresenting what the letter says, mostly to troll.

No. I just don't find it wise. They're acknowledging the spread of transmissions but they don't seem to care because protesting is a good cause. It's a win/lose situation. Even if police reform occurs people will die from a virus due to these protests. They are medical experts but they aren't condemning this, they're encouraging it.

And FWIW police brutality is a serious social crisis, not a public health concern. It's dishonest for anyone to say this. That would be like saying soldiers killed in a war is a public health crisis.

Blatant misrepresentation

Yes but we will solve a different public health crisis that has been going on for much longer

You linked to a letter from medical professionals who disagree with you

This might blow your mind but hear me out... medical professionals...can be misguided and wrong about things just like everyone else.

Theres literally a letter linked in the OP that explains this to you
The letter in the OP caused all the people on social media to change their tune from "Stay home or you want grandma to die!" To "Go out and be heard" several days before the letter was sent? That's not even clever enough to be a joke.

To the extent possible, we support the application of these public health best practices during demonstrations that call attention to the pervasive lethal force of white supremacy. However, as public health advocates, we do not condemn these gatherings as risky for COVID-19 transmission. We support them as vital to the national public health and to the threatened health specifically of Black people in the United States. We can show that support by facilitating safest protesting practices without detracting from demonstrators' ability to gather and demand change. This should not be confused with a permissive stance on all gatherings, particularly protests against stay-home orders. Those actions not only oppose public health interventions, but are also rooted in white nationalism and run contrary to respect for Black lives.

I cant force you to understand basic things.

Basic things like how the people I'm talking about changing their tune did so before this letter, yet you are claiming this somehow informed their decision?

Yeah, its pretty tough to understand how people used information they didnt have. But I sense you won't explain this magic and will continue to infer that I'm stupid rather than just abandon your stance.

What a joke of a topic.

"Experts" also advocated against hand-washing or washing surgical/medical gowns because the accumulated blood showed experience.

Or if you want a recent one, the medical experts that signed a letter calling to end lockdowns, due to increased suicide instances and mental health deterioration.
Discussed on CE, the consensus on the left being ""You wouldn't release your parachute just because you slowed down your descent""

The virus has killed over 600 health care workers ALONE, which is more people than all cops in the whole country have killed this year. Get the fuck out of here.

Lol, lots to unpack here.

Why are people that live in the middle of fucking nowhere, mostly white, and likely never stepped foot in a black or minority community the most fervent about this? Who are you to promote bringing death to my fucking community while sitting so far away? So much privilege.

The letter literally says that it's trying to paint a narrative and saying that even other health experts are split. They sound like they're talking down to black people.

Here's a good explanation of why it's dumb.

https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/06/protests-carry-risk-even-when-theyre-justified/612652/

Again, we lost 400k people as of today in 5 months, WHILE on lockdown for a large part of the world. People lost their livlihoods and the entire planet came to a standstill. This is a pandemic and it's exponentially more dangerous. Police brutality is not even the biggest problem in our communities. Poverty and health is way worse, yet we're gonna put more lives at risk. In the end, white people, especially those far from the cities, will suffer barely anything.

And lol at suburban jokes like Shock saying "the faster they respond, the faster we can go back to saving lives"

Yeah, because it works that fast.

It's like when the right flips, the left automatically flips to the counter argument. Even if it makes no sense. Same shit happened before the lockdowns where clowns were telling everybody to go out and eat Chinese foods, especially in NY. Two studies later, they found that just two weeks earlier would have saved 20k people.

Nonetheless, worldwide, cases are now rising more than ever and 26 states have already gone into high alert and this is simply based off Mothers Day and Memorial Day Weekend. Facts have not changed in any way. So, no. "New information" is not the reason. Some of you just have zero conviction on sticking to something.

Because it's not a premise rooted in reality. This isn't a hostage situation. There isn't even any logical central demands and governors around the country are still the ones allowing the beatdowns. Including people like Cuomo and Newsom.

"Hey guys, if you don't do what we say fast enough, we're gonna die more. You better not let that happen. Save lives. Do what we say"

Some of the demands being defunding the police.

Yeah. These are not ending anytime soon because that's simply not going to happen.

You didnt actually refute anything though.
You said the faster the demands are met, more lives will be saved. These things don't work overnight and as we saw in Minneapolis, they told the mayor to go fuck himself because he's not planning on defunding. How do protests stop if they're not willing to accept that.

That makes zero sense because it's hurting us the worst so black and Hispanics lose so much more than all the white grocery workers living in the forests of Massachusetts like you.

How many people do you know have died from it? I know several. It's broken our hearts. And adding to that is the last thing we want. So again, stop promoting bringing death to our communities when it will never affect you.

Instead of trying to act like a smart ass like you always do, try answering and rebuting some of these questions.
