Like I make good money and have a comfortable, not very challenging, stable desk job. But im not happy or fulfilled at all and essentially go into an 8 hour coma every day, except for the times when I have to deal with dumb as shit co-workers or superiors that piss me off.

Should my mentality be Im lucky to even have a job, let alone a high paying, easy and safe job. I should appreciate it and just focus on providing for my family because not everyone is able to as easily as I am. or Fuck that, you only live once and work is an entire third of you life. Do something that youre passionate about so that third of your life actually matters and stays with you.

I think almost any career I would do for happiness would be lower paying and/or less stable.

Maybe

Try creating some contrast with something you love vs something you dont, maybe youll even appreciate that sod of a grind by being excited about getting out and finally doing said things

Yeah ive been thinking about things I love and what kind of careers can be made out of them. Naturally most of them require degrees and even unpaid internships, so then its trying to find a way to still work a JOB job to make money for my bills while also doing that.

Sure, why not? I mean you can even pick up a hobby that makes you excited to get out of work.. trick is that it has to be something you really enjoy or otherwise youll drop it yknow?

Well I do have plenty of hobbies and interests I love outside of work, ive more been thinking about that third of our lives spent working, doing something you hate or dont care about is like a 20 year prison sentence if you add up the time spent doing it.

Im just torn between appreciating the fact that I have a high paying, stable and comfortable job in 2020 or whether its completely reasonable to want more out of life.
