Why didn't Goku just teleport Cell to King Kai's planet and then teleport him and all the inhabitants out before he exploded? He didn't need those farewells to his friends and family

Even disregarding that, he still had time after popping over to his home (to wreck it) to teleport everyone out

Because the show stretched out how long it went on. The reality is Cell exploded as soon as they arrived.

Also don't forget that he doesn't explode after 10 seconds, he starts to explode; he had a remaining 2-3 seconds buffer

Shunkan Ido is supposed to be instant. If he had time to say goodbye to his friends and apologize to Kaio, then here's no reason why he couldn't have just escaped with Kaio and Bubbles. It's just bad writing by a dumbass horny author.

Like others have said, anime time is not real time. In HunterxHunter they spend 20 minutes analyzing a move and all possible scenarios when in reality two seconds pass.

Doesn't matter how much time passes on screen here. Saying goodbye to people should take longer than a technique that has "instant" in its name.

It does not take a full minute to lock onto Kaio's Ki signature, especially when he knows where Kaio is. He did it quickly earlier in the arc.

Look at you leave out the pages of Goku saying goodbye to Krillin and the others. There were like 10 seconds left at that point, and he still wasted time talking. Furthermore, he had an entire minute to act here; a minute is more than enough for a technique called Instant Transmission.

Him needing a whole minute to think up a simple plan like this is beyond stupid; he regularly uses teleportation in this arc, and that should be the first thing that comes to his mind here.

I worded that wrong, when I said "Cell had 30 secs to blow up, Goku took 20 secs to think of a plan" I meant that at the 30 second mark, that's when Goku took 20 secs to think of a plan.

And this isn't about how long Goku had to act, we've already established Goku as a Grade A dumbass. This is about how long Goku had to go to King Kai's planet and come back.
