You should have to pay $0.00 for medication. There is no reason why people have to pay out of pocket for things to keep them alive.

Im not changing my mind on this.

The government IS spending money on healthcare, that doesn't mean it needs to fork money for every condition, real or imagined, that every single person has. No, you're not entitled to have the government pay for every consequences of eating yourself into diabetes. The government needs to realize that the entitled people who believes the government should pay for all their bad choices will never, EVER be satisfied and simply stop giving them anything.

Because all forms of diabetes are self-inflicted. /s

In any case, while it shouldn't be free like OP said, it shouldn't be ridiculously-expensive either. A free market lets companies fuck over the consumer because they can. Some government intervention is needed.

medication should be free

Food should also be free and easily available to those who need it. As well as high speed internet and electricity.

Yes and no. Companies gives food away for free and companies aren't able to pay their workers or the farmers. People can eat whatever they want and they get more medical conditions like diabetes, hypertension, etc for their poor eating habits. As of now, we have sources of free food, in the form of soup kitchens and homeless shelters. These organizations should receive assistance to help improve the quality of service.

Highspeed internet and electricity is iffy. Yes, it's hard to get by without it in a modern world, but it shouldn't be free. Construction companies should receive subsidies for building green technology like solar panels on the homes and apartment buildings so they can generate their own electricity. Highspeed internet is a luxury. You don't need it, but it's great. Rehauling the country infrastructure should be a priority, not giving it away.

Convenient, so that way Republicans can come around and circumcise it like Obamacare. I wonder if that's the whole point of medicare "for all who want it"?

I'm getting pretty deep into investing.

This last week pharma was hot.

Soon oil will be something I'll make a lot of money off.

Military contractors are a solid investment.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_defense_contractors

I'm sure that big building there was only built for when armed violence is absolutely necessary.

There's a reason people are dragged tooth and nail to these ridiculous "opinions".

Also, there are no opinions on how the world works when it comes to investing. Seems like people just kind of know painkillers are lucrative but prone to lawsuits and invest accordingly.

Idk. But for over the counter, if someone took it all, it would be worse than having to pay for it because you now have none at all. And if hypochondriacs used all the prescription medicine, it can also lead to a shortage... I think I agree with WC. Shouldnt be crazy expensive. But Idk know about free. Maybe. But free still comes with its own unique problems...

Makes most sense to me to have most medications either be over the counter or by prescription with a reasonable copay for each monthly supply, under a single payer system. Combine that what at least a minimal UBI and you've solved medication pricing while preventing people from hording 'free meds.'

The federal government should only be dealing with keeping a national army abd making sure the states aren't breaking laws, that's all its meant for.

So yes, bombs are something they should be doing and not healthcare, or just about anything else they are doing, that should be up to the states

Leftist in a nutshell.
The guy that calls me a Chinese shill strawmans this.

An actual leftists says

Medicine is paid through taxes like every other developed country. Not free.
Government should give you money every month if you're a Yang supporter. (Which I'm not particularly)
Work or don't work up to you, your life will suck ass but you won't starve if you don't.
Freedom of speech by treating public forums as a public space (Donald Trump just tried to restrict online free speech by making websites susceptible to lawsuits if their users say something illegal)
Net neutrality was a LEFT POSITION. No one stated this because NN had a 90% approval, and we didn't want the partisan hacks like you to ruin it, but in reality not one Republican voted in favor of it. Led by Ajit Pai, the former Verizon lawyer that President Trump put in charge of the Federal Communications Commission.

I think a lot of people underestimate how many people actually want to work.

The only thing that would change with a UBI to any real degree is that places couldn't pay crap wages and abuse the employees. They wouldn't be able to treat them like disposable garbage without the threat of starvation over their heads. That's all.

Not being able to work right now sis is losing her mind. She wakes up at 6 am every day and does household chores. She can't sleep right and is kinda moody.

A good portion of people want to work, they just don't want to be treated like disposable garbage. Especially for shit pay.

Why do you think this makes sense? We're a single cooperative country. States have different demographics, different cost of living, different tax revenue, different spending needs.

If one state brings in more tax revenue than it needs... and another state brings in less than it needs, but quality of life would increase with it, why doesn't it make sense to distribute that money to the state in need?

The alternative, assuming you let people change their state residence, is to require people to move in order to gain state benefits. This not only inefficient (it's more efficient to move money to a state in need, than it is to expect all the people to move)... It's a prohibitive barrier to entry for the people who would need it most.

And for the record... I have priorities. Before we can even look at Wealth re-distribution (UBI), we have to make sure that our taxes are preventing people from going into bankruptcy because of diabetes.

And you eliminate your own payments to your insurance companies. This is an absolute no-brainer, if you question it you need to re-evaluate your entire life. Don't you ever stop and think about how much you're being ringed out for health insurance?!

Heres another hot take that Im actually ashamed I forgot about.

Nobody should be illegal. Everyone should be allowed to live here. Every one.

Every body.

As in not one person shouldnt be allowed sanctuary.

And we should pay massive reparations to our Mexican/Latino/PoC brothers and sisters who have had to suffer the humiliation of internment camps, and the kids who have been forcibly separated from their families.
