It's really confusing. You assume the problem is from the top down, but even when someone near the top does the right thing everyone below them does the opposite. If these cops are really good cops, they should look at this movement about improving how people view them. Siding with the protesters shows you are a good cop and you want to run out the pieces of shit who make you reek to high heavens.

that's because the majority of the cops are not good cops. that myth is false. and this proves it. there might be a tiny portion of good cops who are ashamed of their job now, and and trying to find ways to make it up to people. but most of them are doubling down or tripling down after we have dared to rise up against them. cops have had unchallenged free domination in this country for over a century and it is pissing them off that their grip is slipping.

Sad but true. For the longest time I have held the belief that most are good with the bad getting most of the attention, but this is shining a light on just how fucking broken this shit is.
