If it makes you feel any better TC, TLOU2's sex scene is almost certainly gonna be censored in the Japanese release. Japan Sony is a reverse US Sony where realistic nudity is censored but anime nudity can get off scot-free.

Gaming was exclusively seen as an adolescent male hobby and game devs catered to them.

Then these people whined that gaming wasn't taken seriously as an art form.

Then game devs started telling more ambitious and cinematic stories to the point that the mainstream public finally took notice.

Now that games are taken seriously and seen as art, gaming companies want to remove all the things that made people see gaming as immature.

Now those same people who whined that games weren't taken seriously want to go back to the days games was an adolescent male hobby and only catered to them.

There's a moral in here somewhere.

Oscar bait and fun adventure both exist as movies.
Dramatic historical literature and sleazy erotica both exist as movies.
TV can have both serious dramas and shitty superhero shows at the same time.
Classical style music still exists with bubblegum pop.

Fun stuff can exist.

The problem is you have these massive digital platforms where almost anyone can publish a game and it's incredibly difficult to properly manage what should be banned and what is okay. There's a ridiculous amount of visual novels out there and a lot are pretty much smut. This stuff wasn't on the PS2.
