I don't believe in the whole derpy asexuality "I'm attracted to someone solely based on their mind" bullshit, when the people who say this are always women, and the men who they say this about typically wind up having lots of other high value traits, like being good looking, successful, while an overwhelming majority of women will not give your "mind" a chance if you aren't bringing something else attractive to the table.

Yes, personality matters. For both sexes. I could not date a woman who drove me bat shit crazy and bored me to tears regardless of how hot she was. But at the end of the day, "women are sex objects for men" is just bullshit. Most men are looking for legitimate relationships. And even the ones that aren't and are just trying to get laid, are usually doing it to self validate themselves, which is similar to what women do to lots of men who pursue them.

Men put sex on a bigger pedestal than women because sex is in far less abundance for us while relationships are usually super easy as long as you're halfway decent in the sack and have your shit together. If the chick is thirsty or the guy is hot enough, women will objectify the fuck out of men sexually. We see them do it to male celebrities all the time, and if you're decent looking or have a decent looking friend, talk to them about how nearly every one of them has been sexually assaulted by chubby chicks at bars/clubs.

Ironically enough, both sexes "objectify" shallow partners in a similar way: status symbols. For men, having a woman much younger than you and out of your league in looks is a status symbol that says you are a highly successful man. For women, having a man who is out of her league in social status says she is a highly successful woman and sets her apart from other beautiful women that date "loser" men.

At the end of the day, both sexes are looking for a prize. The criteria for what constitutes a prize in the opposite sexes eyes are different, but both genders are equally shallow in different ways. Hell, if we're going by dating site metrics, women are definitely more shallow there, where bell curves pretty much don't exist and like 80% of guys are viewed as undateable by polls and results.

Women are taught by society to find a successful man while society teaches boys to be successful men. This dynamic completely influences the dynamic of how genders interact and how they pursue life. This is partially why investing and other financial areas are dominated by males. Women generally don't have the drive (or rather, the desperation) that you see other guys have in that area.

Maybe that is sort of true in sports and Ill even add weather reporting, but its not true for the majority of news media. Watch CNN or MSNBC for some examples.

The idea that women want a rich dude is a correlation does not equal causation error.
It is just that most men with money are usually confident because to be rich often requires it.
