I wasnt brave enough to kiss her before I got on the plane but we hugged.

We're not boyfriend/girlfriend, we went on a few dates. She was going to come visit but then corona happened.

We're still talking over whatsapp often but i dont know if im supposed to do anything else or just continue to chat with her about normal stuff?

This is what I came in to post. I think it could work if you're asexual, but leaving physicality out of a romantic relationship (and I don't just mean sex) just isn't anywhere near as emotionally fulfilling.

Takes a lot of emotional and mental maturity, patience, and determination. And you need to establish from the jump off if its ACTUALLY going to be anything or not. None of that visit once a year for one week bullshit.

I personally would never do long distance. A 1-2 hour drive is my personal limit, anything beyond is a cold hard deal breaker.

That said I have seen it work out with others. Had a roommate in college who had a girlfriend in California (I'm from Louisiana) and they got married a few years after college. From what I observed from them is they skyped a lot and just communicated well. So to address your question...

If yall have met and are still talking I'm assuming she's interested. Have you discussed intentions on becoming an actual couple? What are her feelings on the matter? Id say that's a conversation that needs to happen soon if you're looking for something specific. Be honest with your feelings to her and ask her what she feels. But generally yes just chat about normal stuff, whatever yall like to talk about and try to meet again whenever it becomes an available option.

@WaterLink Generally how well should you know the other person and vice versa should you start to hint/talk about becoming a couple through text based messaging? The last girl i did the cliche thing and gave her flowers and it was so much easier than just talk.

There's no concrete answer for that. If you know her address maybe ship a gift with a handwritten note tellijg her how you feel if you want to surprise her, thats pretty sweet and more personal than text. She'll respond to you one way or the other pretty much guaranteed once she gets it.

Me personally just given the limited knowledge of the situation, she trusts you enough to meet up at her place (assuming this because you said you were the one that traveled) so it sounds like you guys know each other enough to try to make a move by this point. I mean what are you waiting for honestly?
