Michael was given a court-appointed guardian, Family Eldercare, while his wife and his sister were engaged in a legal battle over which of them should be Michaels permanent guardian. Representatives from Family Eldercare made the decision to remove Michael from the hospital and place him in a hospice.

This was handed very poorly from the sounds of it, but the article makes it sound like he was basically a vegetable and also says both his wife and the doctor didn't want him intubated

Pretty fucked if you ask me, but I'm not the one making the choices and wouldn't want to be in that position. Sounds like they either fucked up majorly or they're so scarce for resources that they figured it isn't worth this treatment on him over a younger candidate with a higher quality of life.

It's fucked but this is the world we made.

Hospitals are gonna have to triage, and people are going to die.

And people are worried that Universal Health Care creates "Death Panels" that decide who will live and die.

In a separate YouTube video posted by Melissa on June 29, she states that she was not permitted to FaceTime her husband while he was in hospice, and that she was not informed of his death for over 12 hours. She also claims that he was not visited by anyone from Family Eldercare the duration of his hospice stay.

That is utterly inhuman.
