The story is he proposed to his girlfriend on Twitter and everyone dogpiled on him. Apparently he's had erratic behavior before this. It wasn't even 4 hours between him proposing and getting universally dumped on for it and then committed suicide.

I only really knew him from the Hearthstone meme where he missed lethal but that's a shame. He seemed like a nice guy, RIP.

This has hit me harder than any celebrity death before it. I'm in complete shock.

I saw his tweets this morning and figured it was another manic episode for him. He's dealt with depression for most of his life and has had his ups and downs.

I just can't believe it.

It was an ex-girlfriend who he hasn't actually seen in 6 months. It sounds really odd (and it is), but it's kind of par for the course for Reckful.

His ex-girlfriend. They haven't been together for years and had not spoken in more than 6 months.

Reckful had a well-documented history of manic behavior related to mental illness, which runs in his family (brother committed suicide as well). At one point recently, he was taking large doses of shrooms every single day to cope. It's unlikely that this tragic event was related to responses on twitter to his tweets this morning.

RIP Reckful.
