...impact gaming visuals in any way? I assume not, but I actually kinda like this larger scaling at least on my 15-inch laptop screen

No. Only thing that does is scale the Windows UI and font. Games have their own scaling render for their UI.

Oh, well that's nice then. Only downside is that visuals aren't as crisp at 125%, but they're sure a lot easier to read
