Travel restrictions, no more sports, theatre or anything else with large crowds, no bars or restaurants, parties etc. for over a decade. Would that be a horrible life?

It's not going away. Life will go on. It is just a super flu and humanity will have to live with it just like with the regular flu. Sooner people understand this the sooner we can just simply enjoy life like it used to be.

All the bans will lift. Theres just going to be a dramatic shift in what's "normal".

Hand sanitizer will be used more, more people wearing masks, distancing will still be in place, etc.. until it slowly fades back out of another decade.

that would only suck for old people its nowhere near as deadly to younger people. and restrictions would ease up free up the economy and hospitals would expand to keep up with sick people although i would expect antibodies to be prevalent in almost everyone by the 10 year mark so even massive hospitalizations numbers may be a thing of the past

If it's like how it is now in my area, I'd survive. My area reached phase 4 reopening today, I could live with phase 3 or 4 for a long time, but I'm not a social person to begin with. It would suck, but I could do it.

chinas wet markets are still a big danger, so we dodged a bullet with covid, the next time we may not be so lucky. the next one could be a civilization smasher that sends us back to the stone age.

Well he's technically right. This virus is bending us over a barrel, now imagine one that spreads like this but is far more deadly, something that is entirely possible to pop up in our lifetimes.
