Our current tv in the living room is a plasma Samsung that I bought back in 2011. Still working perfectly.

Longest lasting TVs I've owned are a Sony from 2012 and a TCL from 2013. They both still work fine.

Had a Zenith CRT from the 90s and I used it near daily to play games or watch movies. I eventually stopped using it in 2013 because I moved away. So we're talking a solid 15 years of near daily use

The TV my family had as a kid was probably bought in 79 or 80, maybe before. And I think lasted until around 95. The TV in my parents house now was bought in 2005.

And this poll shows you why you should never pay more for a smart TV. The TV itself will probably far outlive its Smart features.

most of my TVs have problems after a year or so. Only owned LG and Samsung so far. CRTs did have more longevity.
